What do you use for a bed mat?

I have a 2016 TRD Sport short bed. I found a recycled rubber door mat (4X6) at Home Depot ($30) that worked pretty well. I did have to cut it down in length about 8 inches (cut end to front) and around the wheel wells, but it fits pretty well. There's a small gap (maybe 3") from the wheel well to the tailgate along the sides, but that allows access to the tiedown hooks without further fitting of the mat. Since it's recycled rubber, nothing moves. The grip is great. I'm thinking it would fit the 6' bed without cutting it to length.

I am thinking about getting the Truck Bed Mat from Bedrug. What do you guys think?

I know it's more expensive compared to OEM, but like the extra cushion, especially crawling on your knees.
And when camping and the kids are laying down in the bed, it would be a lot more comfortable than hard rubber.

I just haven't pulled the trigger on the purchase. Lately I have been using a ton of blankets and towels to soften that area from hard sharp stuff that can scratch the bed and the stuff.

I just received and installed my OEM mat yesterday. I wouldn't say the OEM mat is hard rubber. I kneeled on it when putting it in and I immediately noticed that it was soft enough to be easy on my knees. I always had trouble before kneeling in the bed of a Tacoma.

Thanks for the info. I too have the same issue on my current stock setup. I don't know if I am just getting old, but my knee kill if not properly supported.

Are they comfortable to lay on?

Dunno about laying on it.. I'm 63 and not inclined to try that. I slept on a water bed for about 35 years.. nowadays it's "gimme a Tempur-Pedic" . . .

I picked up a workout mat from big 5. Something that a bench set and plates sit on. It's like 7 feet long and 4 feet wide. Was perfect until I got the duke of deals bed mat.

I have the complete BedRug on order, a friend with a GMC Sierra has it and recommended it highly. I went to the local distributor and saw it in person. Sold! I bought the OEM mat when I bought the truck. It does have good grip to keep stuff from moving around, but it just does not look like the BedRug. Will be selling the OEM mat once the BedRug is installed.
