If I want it to just look newish and not shiny, this is my go to. It's important to properly clean the tires first but this is a matte finish and quite nice. spray on, let it sit for 20 seconds and then wipe off

Usually Tucker - the big brown dog - whizzes enough on one tire to give it that new truck shine!
Although he's a sizable hound, he just can't work up the piss to shine all of my tires evenly.
Now if I drive through some fresh cowshit out in the south pasture then boy howdy does it put a fine shine on maybe a couple of tires at best.
No worries though folks as I'm pretty good about washing my truck at least once a week with the wand at the carwash in town - none of that weird spinning rags business as I've seen them take off antennas, mirrors and pretty much sand down your paint from the last dirty car that went through...you guys know they don't clean those in-between, don't ya?
Anyway, sorry for wandering off there.... now I'm 100% for a fella doing absolutely whatever he wants with his truck, shiny stuff for tires sounds interesting.
I bet it does look nice, just that I've never seen such a thing out here...guess I should pay attention more.

I live on dirt roads, so the closest I get to tire shine is a scrub brush at the quarter wash

So far VRP from chemical guys has been working good for me. Not too greasy like the black magic tire shine.

PDP Crystal Blue, or good old STP spray foam wiped after a 10min soak. I hate the 'wet' look. These both give a clean rubber, no bling appearance.

Apparently there is a great divide on this issue. Some want the au natural backwoods rough country look while others prefer the clean detailed look. Personally I do prefer the latter but it is more time and effort. There are some good suggestions here for that camp. Furniture polish or WD-40 on the tires will be a future try. I've been using Armorall because that's what I have on hand. It's not very shiny just clean looking. Also do the wheel wells and exposed under carriage it making it look clean and new too. I only use furniture polish on the interior though.

Remember that tire cleaning product called "Bleche Wite"? It was nasty stuff, but it cleaned a tire like nobody's business! I think they still sell it.

You have to remember what wheels and tires do for a living. Like I said earlier, after all the work to clean and dress them, they don't look good for very long. I guess you could try giving the wheels a light waxing to keep the water spots at bay.

I do wonder why some people feel its not important to not take care of the out side of there truck. Because it’s a truck? Because they go off-road ? It’s a truck that’s north of 40 k . What does a little soap and water cost lol. I use my stuff but I also take care of it to the best of my ability. That means washing the out side and cleaning the inside . Yes it gets dirty again , who cares , when the weather is ok ,and a have a little time , I wash it again . People take a bath don’t they ? You do get dirty again don’t you.
Later down the road if you sell it , it makes a huge difference by the way . I guess everyone does there own thing, but it does seem strange to me .

The tires are but a small portion of the exterior……not dressing your tires does not preclude one from taking care of their truck.
