I've wondered how this split would come out. So 1/3 of people don't really use their truck for anything trucky.

I am the sole proprietor of an underground network of brothels. I use my trusty Tacoma to haul grizzly bears to the assorted, often remote, locations of these dens of wonderful inequity! It's a rip-roaring time, and my truck has yet to let me down. After the bears are blended and ground up into the delicious broth, I mix the grizzly juice into the fuel. It gives my pickup that extra "oomph" I'm looking for when trolling for prostitutes.

That poll might be skewed, as you can have multiple selections.

Like for me, I picked commuting, offroading, and transporting.

With multiple votes allowed, that may not mean what what we think it means.

Reliable is right.. I've been driving toyota trucks since I got my license. 92 v6 4x4, 98 v6 4x4, 2011 trd OR, current DCLB. The 92 3.0 was gutless, burned/leaked oil but never left me stranded. The 98 3.4 is still daily driven by my dad (odo stopped working at 210,000 miles, that was around '05). I put 68k on the 2011 in two years and never saw a single warning light (or burp, fart or hesitation). All my 2015 does is go and go and go...

I drive a LOT for my recreational activities, I kinda fit the stereotype for the active PNW outdoor guy. It carries snowboards, surfboards, my dog, camping/hiking gear. When I'm worn out and it's late, I need to get home! I can't be fixing my shit at the trailhead or sliding off the road in the snow.

Our Tacoma is the fix it truck for our fixer upper houses. It gets used on fishing trips once in a great while as well.

I doubt this forum represents the majority of Tacoma owners. I suspect the vast majority of these trucks are nothing but grocery getters.

Used mine to haul away a bunch of home remodel garbage. Got pretty tired of paying someone or calling my brother every other day (gutted my home we just moved into). My truck is still basically stock right now but soon I will go do some mods and off-roading since this is my first truck and I live West of Phx, AZ. Plenty of dirt and roads to get into that would've never happened with my cars I owned in the past.

This truck will do a lot except pull. My only gripe is the power.

I bought it to tow sailboats and haul SUPs, but to be fair, I used to tow them with a Ford Focus....The Focus smelled awful with wet life jackets in the trunk, so the Taco has that going for it.

It also comes in handy for hauling drywall and flooring for our fixer upper house, but I should be through the major hauling soon.

So yeah, I mostly use the truck for commuting to work. And going to the mall.

All of the above plus it’s my mobile bike rack. Tennessee, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Indiana, Minnesota, Virginia and North Carolina. Bike destination vacation mobile for me.
Pheasant hunt South Dakota, deer hunt and tow boat to Wisconsin.
Camper kinda local, maybe haul it to Michigan.
Mostly just use it to haul kids to the pool though!

Mine is a handy farm worker. I am short, but can reach into the back of the taco. Haul firewood, pull atv on trailer, as well as lawn mower, use it to fix fence, much handier than a full size, although I still have 2 full size for pulling cow trailers, etc.

Well let's see. I drive it to work sometimes but my Mazda 5 is my daily. I pull my 19ft ski boat to the lake. I use it to hang deer stands and haul dead deer. I just hauled a load of firewood home today. I haul my dirtbikes. I sometimes get myself into precarious situations off-road and cause body damage. Taken it on 2 family trips, one to northern Wisconsin and one to the outer banks of North Carolina. So,yeah I use it as a truck me thinks.
