I mean thats pretty handy, not sure if the front of the vehicle is the right spot for them though.

If I'm going electric I see no need to stick with Toyota. I'll go full size.

This is one thing I fear about electric cars and trucks so-
Add an 0.8L on-board diesel generator that charges the battery.

You'll come around, when you find that an electric truck out performs your gas/diesel in every facet of operation- especially off road and towing. Look at the performance side of vehicles; the Tesla S Plaid trolls Hellcat and motorcycle owners.
I'll be interested when/if batteries last at least 840 miles (12 hours at 70 miles per hour), don't weigh 2000 pounds and can be recharged in a reasonable time.

Tundra?? There will be more competition if battery technology advances. An advantage for a small electric truck will be garage size and parking. Plus, you know the government will get their cut of the action, so a large truck will cost more to register.

And in 3 to 5 years when all these vehicles need replacement batteries they will be using gas/diesel trucks to go get the new batteries

Dang man how much do you drive?? Tesla batteries retain over 80% of their range after 200k miles. They expect them to be able to go 300k-500k miles depending on how they are driven. That's a lot of driving for 3-5 years.

When those batteries decide to go south miles will not matter.
When a single battery in the system goes bad its locked out from the rest.
That’s only going to happen so many times before the load that is transferred to the rest of the batteries gets tired. Then you are dead hopefully somewhere safe.
My point was all these batteries were put into service in the last couple of years will go bad at very close to the same time.
I will be waving at them as I drive past :oldglory:

Based on the values found for model s and x batteries at 200k. Educated guesses are the best they can get, its the scientific method at work. The same way Toyota built the 4.5 straight 6 for 300k miles. They don't know it will be good for 300k, but based on their testing they made the claim.

I totally get that. I certainly won't be buying the first generation of any electric vehicle, but at some point society will have to make the switch. Fossil fuels are going to run out

Where dles Toyota put the batteries in an electric Tacoma, retain class leading ground clearence, and a usable bed?

Ford Lightning obviously positions the battery pack low, and between the frame rails. Tacoma is a smaller truck. You can level a F-150 Lightning, perhaps lift it.

I can't see a BE Tacoma, being anything like a six lug Toyota from the past almost 50 years.

Make more, or switch to synthetic.

Do you mean switching to ethanol? Hydrogen would be even better as its the most abundant element in the universe. Can you tell yet that I'm a physicist lol

false in some respects. You need to do more research.

You need to do more research. RIVIANS also can can deeper in water crossings than tacomas.
