I think this is what you are referring to? There are so many ways to make energy using nature, but for some reason people always fight tooth and nail. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure we are going to agree on this. On a long enough timeline even the smallest amount produced will become a major issue. Like I said before though, I am 100% behind nuclear. I just think we should diversify as much as possible when it comes to energy production.

I've always been a little suspicious of wind. Some asshole who let an apple fall on his head and ruined highschool for future generations said energy can never really be created or destroyed. So we are taking energy from the wind, sure it seems like there is so much wind that theres no way we could ever effect it, but that's the same rationale we had about co2 emissions. I feel like massive wind farms could effect weather patterns or the rain cycle at some point, I don't know.

That's a great thought, and I like where your head is at. I'd be interested to see if anyone has modeled how a large scale wind farms slows surface wind.

Another way to look at it is the energy isn't being created at all. It's just being transferred from wind through the windmill into electricity. No creation or destruction occurring. My field of expertise is not thermodynamics though. I do nanophotonics.

The vast majority of trucks that Toyota sells are not for overlanding to remote places. Heck, even a small amount are used for occasional towing. These trucks are city dwellers for the most part. I agree though wouldn't buy one just to use as an Overlanding machine

This is my point, we are reducing the energy or maybe the velocity of the wind. If we do that enough at some point I feel like there will be effects on stuff we didn't intend.

Off topic, I see you have a camping gear site. Check these guys out, they use mostly Land Cruisers and from OZ but they have cool stuff you may like.

No really. It's being worked on now by all major battery manufacturers and Toyota. Reduction of minerals in EV batteries and solid state batteries for longer range and fast charging.

    EV Taco wishlist?
A replaceable battery.. what if all EV's had a standard battery size (some could utilize more or less) and when you get low you just pull up to a battery station and have it swapped out for a fully charged one.

side note rode in my buddy's new model 3 performance.. literally made me cry pulling a G accelerating from 0. made me giggly forsure

I know you want it now but that's not available now. Plenty of info on timelines for the newer generation of batteries.

Thanks. Sometimes my son and I pull up some overland videos on YouTube and watch on the TV like people watch natgeo. I'll check this channel out!

They do battery swapping in China and i think India and some in Japan. Elon wanted to do swapping but too hard to get the infrastructure going from what I recall why he didn't.

Think its just the teslas design, if a recall correctly, it doesn't really have a battery so much as it has many small ones and changing them would require dismantling the whole car.

They are cells, inside pack modules. Accessible from the bottom and don't believe dismantling the whole car is necessary.

Generally agree with this, if they want to market an EV truck I think they should make it its own thing, not try to market it to the current Tacoma crowd.

Hopefully that zamboni with the Tacoma graphic is the closet thing to an electric Tacoma anyone ever sees.
