Well I wanted that on mine as well but when I knew at one point that the bsm wouldn’t work with most I turned bsm and parking sensors off and havn’t looked back. In reality some of us grew up without this feature and really didn’t need it, really hate to think that I need it. New high clearance is installed and no regrets. Those who want your product will sacrifice this to get what they want. My .02

    seriously..

People don’t realize how large it is, nor the fact that it can’t work through steel. If people can’t live without BSM, idk how they drive to begin with.

High clearance bumper with integrated deer hoist, BBQ, and swing. I hate hanging mine from the tailgate.

Light weight, tube with filler plate options (like sliders), and a higher up hitch so it doesnt drag like the stock one.

As high clearance as possible and pan the under and taper up so it won’t get hung up. And the light guards like relentless had are pretty dang cool

you really can’t taper it up that high in the back. It would be really skinny across the back and look weird. You can fix this by lowering the taper. But then the portion right behind the wheel is really low. If you taper the side it becomes difficult to make it more “high clearance” than the stock bed side.

I love that this thread got almost no replies except "bsm plz" when first posted, but I necro it to comment on how the bumper is almost done and all the feedback comes in.

Keep in mind that the photoshop was a very rough rough-draft. The main idea is to not make it look like a cinder block... just give it a slight taper on the way back.

the portion right behind the wheel, would still be higher up that the rear leaf shackles.

the ass end should not hang out, like an ant’s ass. It’s should taper towards the end where you scrape the most. Most issues with the rear bumper on trails/crawling happen at the very end.

the part that is right behind the wheels should never be skinnier than the part at the very end.

I’d say CBI’s T3 HC test bumper has the right idea.

Hopefully this HC bumper has an integrated hitch. It's the only reason I don't have the regular clearance bumper.

Same here. Love the look of the regular steel bumper. If there was hidden integrated hitch I'd definitely have it installed already.

LOL high-clearance and BSM don’t go together.

Though I find it interesting that vendors reference liability when integrating BSM but not the trailer hitch. Just as much liability with a non-rated trailer hitch.

I digress, I have the C4 bumper and things I love about it include tabs for zip ties for running the camera relocate, antennas, etc. I also like that it uses hydraulic struts on each swing out to assist with opening, multiple locking positions, camp tables, rubber grommets on pinch points to prevent vibrations. These are all little things that have put it over the top.

I would include those little details in your bumper.

I would also make it as high-clearance as possible. I would have preferred a tube style bumper for the rear to match the front and try to gain more clearance

Been playing close attention to this one, as I like Victory's other products and before next spring I'm looking to invest in a rear bumper. We don't know exactly the details for the Taco bumper yet, but looking at the 4R bumper that was released today I'm pretty encouraged. The swingouts also came out today, and they will supposedly be universal and work for the Taco bumper as well.

    • The swingouts are $500 apiece and totally modular. You can get none or one or both and add them/remove them whenever. They also have a bunch of addons (tire carrier, camp table, hi-lift mount, maxtrax mount, rotopax, jerry can holder, etc) that you can buy separately and then just bolt on, which is cool.
    • The license plate and camera relo kit mounts into the rear-mounted spare. Not sure how I feel about this setup until I can see how it works/mounts - not sure what you would do for a mount if you wanted your spare or the whole swingout off for commuting (or if you didn't want a swingout).
    • Most of the rotopax mounts I've seen are flat against the rear of the vehicle, but this one is sideways it looks like.
    • The latches and hinges both look high quality, interested to get more closeups/video/reviews.
    • The bumper itself (for the 4R) has a built in hitch, a couple of recovery points, and cutouts for two cube lights - also good.
    • At launch the 4R version is steel only right now - 110lbs for the bumper plus 40 per swingout, then accessories, tires, fuel, etc on top of that. That's a lot of weight, seems like a maybe a good place to splurge for aluminum on the bumper itself, hopefully they offer it eventually.
