What does 1 Trillion $ look like

There should be term-limits in Congress. These assholes sit up there on Capitol Hill and act like they are the elite. They are servants to the people, that's all. They may get into office with the right intentions but power corrupts. I say eight years for the Senate and six for the House. We should also eliminate the Federal Income Tax. Institute a Sales Tax. That way there could be very little cheating. Everybody has to buy goods and services. Even if you got paid "Under the table" you still have to buy. Illegal Immigrants, those on welfare and those that are lazy would still pay, just like the rest of us.

Let's not forget why we're in this mess. Its because of untold millions of dip-shits going out and buying houses they could not afford, banks lending money to these people who they knew could not repay, investment banks re-selling packaged loans upstream, several wars that as of 2008 will cost EACH and EVERY US citizen well over $10,000 EACH, and a whole crapload of other things already mentioned repeatedly.

So demonize the government all you want. Call them Socialists, Martians, or whatever. But don't forget why we are in this situation because the cause is every bit as much to blame, if not even more so than the solution, and additionally, the cause was from all across the board- from avg US homeowners, consumers, real estate agents, car makers, bankers, investors, politicians, lobbyists, and congressman.

And lest people too easily forget: Pretty much ALL of the cause was created before the current administration, so if you want to press blame- then you might as well put the majority of the blame squarely where it actually belongs.

Oh- and by the way. The DOW has so far had a two and a half week rally. Its now up almost 23% in that same amount of time. Had the government sat back and done nothing, you would not be seeing any kind of rally period.

I never said it was gov's fault for getting us into this situation. I am saying they are spending too much money to get us out of it. There is no proof that the dow is turning around because of what the gov. has done so far. Just because it's going up doesn't necessarily mean it's because of the government. Otherwise it would have gone up every time they announced another bailout.
