Been a while since we've been out, it's always ready when I am.
Anyone shoot trap or skeet? I've only been doing it for a year or so. I think my highest score on trap was 23/25. I like skeet - I could get into that more often, just not alot of ranges nearbye that have it. Did Sporting clays one time - holy crap, that's impossible!! We have one of those sit-down trap throwers that we haul in the tacoma often.

Guess I can play too... I hate taking pictures of me, but my 6yr old daughter seems fascinated with the camera now so here's one of her first attempts. A little more practice and maybe she can be the cameraman for wheeling trips! :D

I think I was actually on TW when she took this.

I love shooting skeet but i'm not that good and it's been a while. My dad has a nice over/under that i love to use. Unfortunately its his dove gun and only a 20ga but its way more fun to shoot that any of his pumps or his semi. He has a semi auto benelli that he loves but to me its just not fun. Last time i went i was a guest at some fancy country club that had a sweet set up. it was like playing golf except with shotguns. you basically walked around over this huge plot of land and every hundred yards or so there was a stand. some were out in the middle of the woods and some were out in fields. they had the skeet that bounced across the ground like a rabbit. sorry if i dont know all the terminology but like i said, i dont shoot skeet often. Anyway, it was great, but it gets pricy when you go somewhre nice.

whats the difference between trap shooting and skeet shooting? is the only difference walking around as opposed to being stationary?

no... I think he means trap shooting is ground targets, skeet is air targets.

Now I'm really confused. I thought both trap and skeet shooting involved the same "clay pigeons". The difference is that trap shooting is when they are flying/thrown mostly away from you, and skeet shooting is when they're moving from side to side. In that case, trap shooting would be better practice for hunting quail, and skeet shooting better for hunting doves.

    Clarifications anyone?

eh... I'm confused too. The original post talked targets bouncing on the ground and not knowing the correct terminology.. Next post said that was trap shooting...

I dunno guys, all i know is that i shoot clay pigeons, coming towards me, away, side to side, and one time i did it walking around the woods and some bounced across the ground. I'm not gonna get technical and just say that i like shooting skeet.
