biggest concern is the bad sound system even with the JBL

Then it's the highway mileage that could be better with the moderate speeds I drive.

Really, I love my little 5 lugger, I just hope it lasts a long time.

Don't like that there is no light in the truck bed and the Transmition sucks, specially in low speeds, even after the download upgreat for my 2010 TRD Sport, it shifts at ramdom, between 30-40 mph (most of my drive speed to get home). Just not smooth at all... At times, stop in the traffic light and a few secs late fell a thump!
I tell you, if you have bad back or just had a back surgery, you will feel everyone of those gears.
But I love the looks and the Bluetooth is my favorite feature! Never had one before.
Best MPG on my 4x4 has been 18mpg , truck has 10k miles.

Only thing i'm not liking is I get really a really bad cross between a squeak, and a rattle from the little tray above my right knee.. I made sure it was clicked in all the way.. Next step is to super glue it, or rip it out.. It's extremely annoying though..

Everyone who has brought up the sound damping issue, has your truck always been this way or did it get worse with time? My truck is dead quiet, almost like a lexus.

Basically love this truck ('06, 4x4 quad cab)... the little things that i do not like are...

    1...Rear sliding window...(Dbl Cab)..I can't reach the friggin' thing..how about electric?

2...TPMS...My spare tire sensor rotted because someone put a Steel valve stem cap on it and it reacted with the aluminum valve stem... totally fused together and then rotted off.... Now I run with 4 sensors and the light is on all the time...It should be able to be programmed or turned OFF..!!!

3...Front brake caliper system is the same as the old Ford Escort's.. and the pads rust into place and wear out way too soon (requires seasonal lubrication)..

4...Cruise control is way too agressive and is non-adjustable.

I could make a much longer list if you were asking why I love my truck..!!

    Oer60.... Cheers guys.!

I love my '09 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed, but it has had it's share of mechanical problems, mainly in the drive line. I have had to replace the rear leaf springs because they bent last winter, but I was going to do that anyway, so I had a custom rear leaf pack made and also replaced the front suspension system with an ARB/OME kit. In only 22K miles,I am on my 3rd carrier bearing (yes I had the OME carrier bearing drop kit installed when it was lifted), so this time I did some research before having it replaced. I had a new heavy-duty drive shaft made for it with a Ford SuperDuty carrier bearing, and a custom-built heavy-duty cross member fabricated to support it. Hopefully, this is the last carrier bearing. My drive line guy seems to think this is the fix and that it will last a very long time. If anyone here has any questions about who built my drive shaft and cross member please email me. I hope to be posting some pics soon.

The only thing that I don't like about my 05 Access Cab 4x4 is that the rearview mirror is a little low. I have look around it Whenever I am looking to the right. I wish it was a little higher.

Mushy Brakes and squeaky rear leaf springs.

My 08 USED to do this, after sitting over night. Backing out of the driveway going to school, the front discs would squeal like no other...i dunno what caused it to stop. I didnt do anything lol
