just take out one of the two (side by side) rubber cup holders in front of the stick shift. Then you have a square holder...

The big disappointment is the quality of the interior plastics. I have scratches on the textured door panels from my small dog trying to look out the window (I expect some, but not as many as I have). If I look at the plastics funny, they scratch.

Also, the rear view mirror is placed in such a manner that I have to constantly look around it when trying to scan the horizon. On my first Gen, it was up high enough that it was rarely in the way; not so with the second gen.

Aside from what's already been posted, the turn signal indicators are too low in the instrument cluster to see easily. They are at the bottom of the speedo; they should be at the top, or entirely above & separate from the instruments.

The Tilt/telescopic steering wheel has enough up/down adjustment, but only about 1" telescopic range of motion. For a long-legged driver, it means having to have the seat back almost vertical in order to reach the wheel.

Like the low-mounted rearview mirror, these two items accentuate how short in stature the designers of this truck must have been.

AND SR5's... thing is useless in a double cab. Unless you have Orangutan arms...

Oh, and here's another thing I don't like - the standard (touch-screen, NON JBL) radio has no "remote" ouput, so you can't power up aftermarket amps, etc. with the radio. Totally bogus.

No OEM radio has a "remote" out to connect aftermarket amps. What good would a remote out be since no OEM radio has RCA outputs either. :notsure: why this is an issue for you. If your adding amps for stock radio, you should be using a processor which should supply a remote out. Or most decent amps these days don't require an rto wire, they have a signal sense feature. And if worst comes to worse, any "accessory" or even "ignition" wire does the same thing as rto.

People bitch too much. Some of these are legit shortcomings such as power rear slider and cargo lighting, but really people... turn signals too low, no remote output, no engine bay lights, etc... these are things that little to no cars have anyways or they aren't even a big deal. Everyone in this thread who's bitching about the tiniest shit should just sell their truck or be quiet. /

Wish the rear slider window was powered (Up/Down), I would use it a lot more often.

Inverted power outlet in the cab (AC).

Better MPG would be nice... Higher gearing in 6th for highway driving.

    ... Pretty much it.

No illumination around the ignition switch. My scion tc has it and it cost half the Tacoma. But then again it's only half a car...:p

A bed that's even on all 4 sides! Would make adding a folding tonneau cover much easier and make it less likely to leak.
