I had my 2000 taco for 9 years, bed was fine. I put a hole in my 07 bed 2 months after I got it. Very careful now, if not I would have more holes. So, no it doesn't. Maybe it last longer if used lightly, but not if used IDK, regularly. My 2k bed didn't have any dents and wasn't beaten up, I was much rougher on it.

Cool Thanks. I was not aware. I'd do anything to remedy the metallic binding feeling shift and will definitely check that out.

I am only hoping my TOB lasts. I have the 2.7 so I dont have to deal with the spline issue of the V6, but i've read the TOB likes to fail easily....which is redicilous considering the effort/cost to get to it and replace it. Maybe I can hack a huge hole in the side of the tranny with an access panel :D.

Also to note, I had a terribly loud redicilous SQUEAAAAAK coming from the transmission when the clutch was pressed. I needed a new master and slave cylinder as it was, so replaced those. The squeak remained....I shot white lithium grease up into and around the TOB fork which fixed the issue. I think it was the spring or pivot of the fork.

    1. Lame Interior.
    2. Entune is boring. Android Auto should be the future with phone screen mirroring options.
    3. No factory leather option unless you go with the limited edition.
    4. No lights for my door controls. You can't see whether you're unlocking the doors or locking them.
    5. Brake lights are outdated. The LED look would be nice.

Got my '14 SR5 in March. I like almost everything except:

Lousy mileage for engine and truck size
    No outside temperature display

But my biggest beef is that the Entune radio (I have the Plus) could be so much more - temp. display, trip computer, MPG display, etc. What I'd really like to see is the Entune be able to connect to the internet (through your phone) to get true/real-time weather radar and traffic conditions (HD weather and traffic? Aw, come on, it's practically useless). I don't expect the Entune to be a web surfer, but why couldn't you assign certain websites to provide specific information? And the beauty is that, I assume, all this could all be done with a software upgrade.

    Sorry, I'm starting to rant.

New to the forum, been lurking for a while. Hate to have my first 2 posts be complaints because I love my '14 DCLB. But...I hate when I attempt to lock the doors with the remote and one of the kids still has a door open. Instead of just waiting 'till the door is shut (like my wife's highlander), a constant beep goes on.

I HATE that my lock button isn't lit up on the door. I have to hit the map lights to see the lock button when I'm in a sketchy neighborhood.

I hate seeing the envious looks of everyone in their four wheeled wheezing econoboxes. It is truly tiring.

I've been a first hand eye witness to several 2nd gens. that decided on the trail , they didn't like their fender flairs anymore & shook them off on a small bump, smart thinking Toyota......

    It's NOT a "cool story bro'".... It's about resentment & regret about how stupidly ya'll emptied you're wallets for a sub-standard vehicle thats not a car & not a truck.... it's a mercury....:p

Stay out of the sketchy neighborhoods dude.... problem solved.....;)

To all of you wanting a locking gas cap... I just picked two of them up from O'Reilly's auto for $23 and change for both, and they had them in stock (mind blown).

I put one on my 2003 and one on my 2014, both fit very well. Not sure how many states have an O'Reilly's, but the fact that they had them in stock must mean they are a commonly sold item, so I would guess most chain auto part stores carry them.

By the way, it was the same cap for both trucks if you have a gen 1.
