What easy upgrades for a 2013 base?

My favorite mod was the intermittant wiper upgrade, rains alot here and its easy to do. Unplugged old one and plugged in the new, took about 20 mins. Got one for $75 on Amazon, videos on youtube.

I don't think any of my lights have been upgraded, but so far I'm not having any problems with what I have. And I think I'll skip the heated seats--in coastal Texas, I'd much rather have air conditioned seats.

I've never been comfortable spending so much on stuff to add to a vehicle before, but I'm really hoping I'll be in this truck for a long time.

 

If you find that your reverse lights don't put out enough light to see with your back up camera I put these led units in and they do the trick very nicely.

The intermittent wipers, ($65.00 on Ebay & 30 min. install) & the above mentioned back-up lights (less than $30.00 on ebay & 30 min. install) are for the money & time, the best yet.

 

More progress! I've updated the list in the first post.

Current project is adding more Dynamat to the doors. I've been pretty happy so far with the road noise reduction from doing the back and one access door, and I'm hopeful that having all four doors done will make the truck much more pleasant on the highway. I really don't want to remove the front seats or the headliner, so no plans to continue with the matting. This stuff is way more expensive than I'd like, and I'm usually not a proponent of "buy once, cry once", but I knew that if I ended doing the job and later found out that I'd used substandard materials, I'd never get around to redoing it. And sound is so subjective that it's practically impossible to tell entirely from reviews.

About the only light project I can see doing at this point is some sort of cargo light. Not sure if easier/better there would be just replacing the 3rd brake light with a red/white, or going with some sort of bed lighting under the rails.

Otherwise, I'm pretty damned happy with this truck as it is now. About the biggest problem I have now is finding a place to keep my jumper cables other than laying in the back of the cab. I'd love to get a truck box to put this kind of thing in, but I have yet to see one that doesn't kill the ability to carry a sheet of plywood.

 

Uni filter is soooo worth the $14 !

 

Just fyi , two electrical plugs and four bolts and the seat is out of there. Good time to clean carpets, adjust fit on seat covers and add sound proofing .

 

Second box of Dynamat done and I'm pretty happy with it now. The road noise certainly isn't completely gone, but it's much better. I've got 2.5 sheets in each access door and about 3 sheets in each front door, with the rest on the back wall and floor behind the front seats.
