Just curious if anyone else has something cool besides your taco as a daily/supplimental vehicle?

Im considering sliding the taco into the "recreational" family beach rig/dune cruiser/ project hauler category and getting a nice daily.
Yes i could daily my truck for another 200k im sure, but i want her to remain in great shape and last as long as i need her around. The wife drives the GTI daily and now im itching for a VW Golf R myself...

I have a super sweet 2009 corolla with fender damage with 200k on it. Bought for 2 grand. No hubcaps. A bit dirty on the inside. Don't care. And that's what makes this such a great car. Beyond scheduled mechanical maintenance, I just don't have to care. I'll drive it till the wheels fall off and save my affection and time for my Taco.

Ironically my fun car is a GTI. '17 6 speed manual. It was my "daily" for a couple years. First year I had it I had a company truck, but the second year I put a bunch of miles on it. Been driving it a little more since the snow and salt season is just around the corner and it'll be in the garage for several months.

Ironically even though the R has more power, people claim the GTI is way more fun to drive.

Love my V-8 4Runner Limited; mostly stock but with Bilsteins all around; aging, but more comfy than the Tacoma.

Used to be a ‘95 M3, I reworked the whole suspension, TCKline coil overs, poly bushings throughout, reinforced subframes, 17x9 lightweight wheels with sticky tires. Still have it, needs some bodywork now then get sold. Need the money more than the car.

Otherwise, a beat to snot ‘99 Subaru Legacy SUS (sits on Outback suspension). Went one size up on the tires, goes through EVERYTHING. It’s got 250k+ on it and owes me nothing. It’s ugly but fully loaded. Heated wiper grid, seats, mirrors. It starts every time and is a beast in the snow.

My matching 2012 TC. I don't drive it often, though. The GF usually drives it.

Hoping to replace it with a 370Z in the next few years. Or keep it for a beater.

The funny thing is even beating on it I get well over 30mpg. I had to take a 6hr round trip to Scranton, PA and back and it got roughly 38mpg combined. When I bought it I followed a strict break in and changed the oil out at 1400 miles. Doesn't burn a drop of oil driving down the highway or state roads like some of the other EA888 2.0's. It was used for a month just going a couple miles a day and it did start using some. Although I'm very religious about changing the oil out at 5K due to it being turbo and direct injected. It even does halfway decent in snow with the factory tires, but now I have the Tacoma for that.
