I am having the frame replaced on my truck under the extended frame warranty. While doing so, I will get free labor for the replacement of any parts that are moved during the transfer (new frame comes with new brake lines). What should I replace?

    Here's my list:
shocks (100 to 163k miles on them)
    ball joints?
    tie rod ends?
    control arm bushings?
    pitman arm?
    idler arm?
clutch (163k miles on it, but I would likely have to pay some some labor)*

Please critique my list and suggest additions.

    * I wish they would let me replace the clutch after they pull the motor/tranny while they are stripping and replacing other stuff.

rear leafs? from what I understand, if they are stock its worth replacing them.

weather you replace the leafs or not make sure they put all new frame to shackle and leaf spring bushings back there.

Which Toyota dealership is doing the work for you? I may need the same thing done or at least an inspection by a sympathetic dealer :)

Ira in Manchester, NH. Though I don't think the dealership matters. Toyota extended the frame warranty to 15 years as long as you got the Toyota rust-proofing. Visiting any dealership, or calling with your VIN, should tell you if you if the warranty is in force. Then, the dealer should inspect the frame for you. I can't really see any dealership letting you drive off with an unsafe frame, especially if the warranty is in force and they can charge the work back to TMC.

Picked up my truck today. New frame, LCAs, rear springs, etc. Just in time for the Nor'easter snowstorm! They installed a new (junkyard) bumper that I had bought and nicely re-installed my aftermarket items (hitch, trailer wiring) I have only driven it for twenty miles so far, but it seems tight. I love what you do for me, Toyota.
