Unfortunately for many products a significant quantity of beta testing and quality control are left to the end-consumer. Though the empirical practicality of this real world testing likely leads to improved product quality, it can leave early adopters having to deal with issues not anticipated by the initial design and manufacturing teams.

For this reason I have avoided "first model year" vehicles, and pretty much "bleeding edge" anything...
