    this would be one of the best motors IMO to swap out

    but i think the 4.6 v8 Toyota makes for the new tundras should be offered in Tacomas too

    Why did Toyota replace the 4.7 with the 4.6? As far as I know the 4.7 was a well made reliable engine. My sisters 4runner still ran strong up to 100000 I know it's not relatively a lot compared to some other engines but I'm sure it would have gone much much farther if she didn't crack the block in an accident

    haha the new 4.6 is more powerful then the old 4.7. quite a bit more powerful

    4.7: 245 horsepower 315 lb·ft

    4.6: 310 hp @ 5600 rpm 327 lb.-ft. @ 3400

    and is easier on gas i believe

    the stock. 3.4L engine with each cyl bored out 100cc to make it a 4.0 liter, lighter pistons, lighter flywheel, higher lift cams, and the Supercharger with aftermarket boost control.

    interesting idea. but 130hp is alittle anemic eh? It would be awesome if cummin built something between the 3.9 and the 6.7s 350hp.

    I'd vote for a 4bt or an inline six of some sort. I have a friend that's considering a stroked 4.0 inline 6 in his jeep and it actually looks pretty impressive
