I've got an AAS in MET from SUNY Morrisville in upstate New York.

My course work involved quite a bit of hands on work, much more than a lot of my friends who have ME degrees.

I've got a bunch of credits in machine shop practices and machine tool operation, as well as manual CNC programming (hand written), CAM modeling, manual drafting, 2D CAD, 3D solid modeling, and some process work like injection molding & rotational molding of plastics.

I have a unique case of somehow having a different job title on every piece of paperwork related to my employment. I think it happens because nobody is quite sure so each person who needs to put something makes one up.

"Network Engineer" is one of the ones I've seen a few times, which I guess is most similar to my degree. I just say I'm a SysAdmin because it's broader and therefore more accurate.

I got a couple years left in school for Civil Engineering with Construction emphasis and a minor in management. I currently work as a Project Manager for a Commercial Landscape company. I can't even imagine what life will be like without school.... Sooo much more time!

My degree is in Environmental Engineering. First 7 years out of school I designed Wastewater collection and treatment systems. Everything from the toilet to effluent pipe at the WWTP. Last two years have been serving as the Resident Project Representative on various wastewater and water collection, distribution and treatment upgrade and replacement projects. This includes all aspects of construction management as well as related QA/QC Inspections. Went from a 40 hour a week cubicle job to a 40+ hour a week outside job, much happier now.

Graduated in Dec '89 with a BSME from NMSU. Been in TX and in the oil/gas business my entire career. Moved over to the dark side (BD) 19 years ago, but I get to play engineer sometimes. I've got a pretty good view here in Dallas. Keep trying to get my paycheck to go to CO, but I may have to retire to make that finally happen.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Mechanical Engineer degree.
Do product development and sustaining engineering for medical devices.
In the past I was in manufacturing for place making construction and mining equipment. That was cool stuff but medical is a lot cleaner workplace. :D

I'm right there with you. over 3 years in with the combustion field... love the design and travel, but not sure if I am good for a long-term fit int his industry. Auto would be great. I originally wanted to do automation, conveyor systems, etc.

I work for honda, if you really want to get a job in the auto industry I can't stress enough how critical it is to participate in an SAE competition program like FSAE or Baja SAE.

My time doing Baja was both the best and most useful years of my college career, they're what got me the job I have today.

Also make sure you do relevant internships.
