Trying to figure out if all 1st gen fender flares will fit my 96 Taco. I'm still on the search for a drivers side, but cant find any for this specific year, will all fender flares fit from the 1st generation?

They're a sought after item, best bet is to find someone on here that is removing them and try to buy from them. Both times that is what I have done

I’ve been to Rancho Truck Parts outside Sacramento in person before. They have by far the best Tacoma part selection in the country, and their prices reflect this.

They wanted too much for a set of flares when I called them. I’d try www.car-part.com

I'm going to add one question to this flare thread if no one minds. Which flares give the most "coverage" vertically compared to the stock chrome wheel well trim? I have some rust above the rear fender wells that I'd like to easily cut out, treat and cover with a flare since this is just a hunting truck. Thanks.

    Bumping an old thread...

Speedytech7, I have a used set of 01-04 flares I'd like to put on my 96 Tacoma (chrome fender accents were removed before I got it). Did yours install in a pretty straightforward way? Did you just mount using the 2-3 bolts in the wheel well and that's it? Did you have to do anything with the clip holes around the edges of the flares? thanks!

Cool, thanks for the input! I'm debating on using 3M tape on the outside of fenders to reinforce it as well.

BTW, nice 80...I've got one too, but needs a lift.

Thank you, yours looks like it's in great condition too. I'll be selling my Tacoma real soon to build out the cruiser. Too many vehicles in the driveway haha

    I have mods
Are the 01-04 flares wider? As in stick out from the fender further?

Bumping this old thread in hope that someone will know if tundra flares will fit on my 96! I saw a trd off road 06' today and the flares looked much bigger than the 01-04 and have a similar problem as dbowers with rust just above the wheel and would like to cover it!
