What fuse blows when you plug a 1500 watt thing into the 400 watt outlet?

I've done a search on this, but came up with close, but not useful answers.

What happens when someone plugs a 1500 watt appliance into the 400 watt outlet in the bed? Put another way, what fuse or fusible link blows?

Asking for a friend.

@MGMDesertTaco Thanks. That seems right. I think I need to get some spares. For my friend. Just in case something bigger than 400 watt gets plugged in.

 

No fuse blows. The inverter just turns itself off. Unplug whatever was plugged in, and press the button on the dash again. That's it.

 

You can’t draw more amps than the inverter max output. Nothing is going to blow- your device just won’t run.

 

That is good to know. Now what I need to find is something under 400 watts that will heat up a cup of water.

 

You'd be best just getting a camping rig for warming up soup/coffee with butane.

Also I've seen high watt stuff plugged into the inverter, it just runs at a lower output, which simply doesnt work at all with a water heater. But we had an air compressor plugged in and it worked, just slower.

 

Yes. I've started looking at little propane single-burner stoves and camp burners that use twigs.

 

Jetboil or the likes, quick n easy.
