What gauge cluster do I have?

I noticed the other day that the gauges in my truck are different than every other Tacoma I've seen. I was hoping to change the gauge backlight color but I'm not sure it'll be possible given my gauges are different (see photos at bottom). My truck is a 2008 Tacoma TRD Sport Quad Cab SR5. It was a Canadian import, so I'm wondering if they took a gauge cluster from a different US vehicle and re-programmed the odometer so it was accurate.

    Here's 2 odd things I noticed:
    - The cluster only shows 3 speeds, however my gear shifter shows 4. When I shift to 4, the gauge cluster displays 3, 3 displays 2, 2 displays L, and L displays L. It feels like it shifts between 2 and L, so I'm fairly certain I do indeed have a 5 speed Trans.
    - The cluster is white, with a reverse glow orange behind the numbers.

Did this cluster come from a different vehicle all together?
Did they re-program to miles & overlay with an aftermarket face with Mph on it?
Did they come this way in Canada?
    Other thoughts?

My guess would be that the gauge faces were changed, with a set intended for the 4-speed auto tranny...

Yea, I was thinking they put a new face on it...but isn't the shifter backlight behind the face? When I shift into 2, and L the same gear indicator light remains illuminated. If they put a different face on my original 5 speed cluster, then wouldn't there be a strange glow in a blank section of the face (where L was supposed to be)?

Why would an import company replace my original 5 speed cluster with a refaced 4 speed cluster. That's just extra parts to buy.

Probably the previous owner changed out the gauge cluster with a 4 speed model and swapped out the faceplates with white ones or just swapped out the faceplates with the 4 speed model.

If it were a Canadian model the speedometer would be KM on top of MPH, the MPH are on top of the KM like the U.S. models are

All good points, I've never had one apart to know what's "in back"..
