I think you can now get 5.29. Another guy in TN going to 5.29 w/ 37s. He was on 4.88 or 4.56 with 37s and his 4banger didn't have enough ass. @allmotorrex

I'm with him. No way I'd drive that setup that far.

37s on a 4 banger on the interstate? Sounds miserable

Plenty of 4cyl guys are running 35’s with 4.88’s so I don’t see why 37’s with 5.29’s wouldn’t work just fine. Then again this is tacomaworld and the masses all follow one another so if it’s not a v6 it’s absolute garbage and not worth anyone’s time:rolleyes:

Here is a chart according to the calculator on grimmjeeper.com. Left is stock 245/75-16 tires with stock 4.10 gears. The right is 37’s with 5.29 gears. Obviously the weight of the much larger tires will have an effect on things so I’d imagine 37’s with 5.29’s would drive similar to a truck with stock gears and 33’s. This is all speculation though as I have no experience with 37’s on 5.29’s

Go with the 5.29s. Ive got 4.88s on 35s with the 2.7 and live in CO. Our trucks are not big fans of the mountain passes...
Eventually I'll go to 37's but not before I get a supercharger.
