At least in my area (Sacramento), it’s men in their late 30s-40s driving stock 3rd gens. I always nod or a thumbs up to them and they look at me like there’s a dick on my forehead..

There’s been a few younger guys my age in their late 20s and they always seem to acknowledge the comradery and love for Tacoma’s.

I’ve yet to See/meet anyone from TW in my area, though I know they exist.

we are millennials... just barely, the actual cut off is 96 so it just kid of depends where you relate more to. But for me having an older sibling i relate more to the millennial side because of the extended 90s culture i was exposed to through him lol

Technically I'm a Millennial, but I know how to fix stuff, don't cry when my team looses, understand how to talk to older people, and don't like the PC crap that is being pushed these days. If someone is bulling you, beat the crap out of them, not brood on it till you shoot up the place.
And I forgot to say that my parents always told me to go out and play, don't come back till supper.

+1 for receiving "you have a dick on your forehead" looks after acknowledging other Tacos. Only person to nod back was some girl with "JEEPTOWR" on the back of her truck, lol.

I hate jeeps, but I gotta admit the comradery they have is something (most) Taco owners lack.

My son was born in 1983. My daughter in 1990. They are both very good people but very different from each other in some ways, however Neither have an entitled attitude and both are extremely hard working.

People don’t behave the way they do because of the year they were born. It is due to the way they were raised by their parents, their own varied personalities, and to the cultural norms to which they were exposed within their own respective societies.

I believe most of the problems attributed to the so called millennial generation stems from the helicopter parenting and liberal/PC direction our culture has shifted to. YMMV...

Just eyeballing the poll results looks like it lines up with general population distribution.

Ayy @Hofmann’s Tacos I'm 23 and we have the same name! But different spelling.
I've never quite identified with the millennials. Unlike you I'm the oldest sibling, so most of the 90's stuff I missed. The childhood I remember was solidly early-2000's. Honestly we're in such a narrow window. We had cassette tapes and DVDs at the same time. We grew up with technology but weren't molded by it or influenced a lot by it like the age groups right after us.

I think the year they were born contributes to behavior. The culture that surrounds them plays a part, as does the quality of parenting. For instance, young girls weren’t twerking on Denny’s diner tables on the regular in 1940. What I’m saying is that the level of retardation depends on how tarded the cultural climate is, and parents have a much harder time now keeping their kids from being a full blown idiot. There are other cultural markers, like the entitled feelings, the over abundance of publicly expressed feelings, and the requirement to have those feelings acknowledged, and avocado toast, tide pods etc. that contribute to the war that parents have to fight to keep their kid pointed in the right direction. Fortunately for me, I had skateboards and metal, and was hatched that way with no parents to sway me.

i think it's more the environment you're raised in. i was raised with the "come home when the streetlamps are on" mentality. and hunting down a payphone when i was late or needed a ride. i was never really beaten when i fucked up but i was disciplined. i like to think i've got a good head on my shoulders. not a lot of hand-holding/ participation points; i was guided through things, but still had to learn on my own. and no "you'll get them next time" after a losing hockey game, it was more "we need to work on your skating and you're shot before you play them again." which was immensely more helpful than "well if i try harder next time maybe i'll get it".

    progress requires effort.

and i feel effort is lost these days with the instant-gratification mentality.
