I see a common trend here. Lube type is not important only that you apply it regularly.

Any of these work? I noticed that the marine grade and extra are not lithium-based. And the manual says to use lithium

I’ve been using the Lucas xtra at every oil change since I’ve owned my tacoma(75k ish miles) I didn’t know about needing to be a lithium based grease. I was just going off the nlgi2 rating.

Been using amsoil moly grease and it doesn’t leak out the oil like the red n tacky did before it.

    https://locknlube.com/products/locknlube-grease-coupler

I highly recommend the coupler for anyone with a grease gun. We use them at work and we go through a pile of grease when we PM our conveyor rolls and the coupler has yet to fail or need a rebuild. Makes one man greasing a breeze.

    https://4xshaft.com/products/1310-series-gold-seal-universal-joint

I also recommend these u joints for the front driveshaft as the grease zerk isn’t in the middle of the cross it’s on the end of the one cap like the rear u joints.

I use the Lucas green stuff. The Xtra or whatever they call it. OEM specs for lithium.

I grease my u joints every 5k with each oil change, the old stuff comes out like new. I'm wasting grease, I know but it makes me feel good. Compared to lithium greases which would come out watered down and black.

The green stuff is polyurea based and not lithium. It's a much much better grease. One application for polyurea greases is in sealed bearings that can't be injected with new grease since it sticks to things really well, doesn't oxidize like metal based greases, and resists water very well too.

The down side is that it's not compatible with lithium greases. I've read this is supposedly a compatible but I flushed out everything really well and haven't had issues. After pumping grease through the u joints I drove for a bit then pumped again.

Wait till you hear the best part though, it doesn't leak out the grease gun like most lithium greases
