so I had truck for more then year and I noticed there are greaseable fittings on driveshaft u joints. I been taking truck to dealer for oil changes course I want to have records of them and I assumed they greased them. Now I want to grease them myself. What grease do you use? I think I read in manual about lithium based grease?
I use chevron nlg2 for chiller motors and other motors so maybe it's ok to use for this? I picked up Lucas small grease gun and 3 pack of grease tubes. One is lithium based I think. Ok to use?

Don't assume that the dealer greased them ever. I'd be willing to bet they have never seen a grease gun. Grease them good until you see good clean grease coming from all four bearing caps. Then do it every oil change.

Universal joints are the only grease fittings on a stock truck.

And if you have your driveshaft off , give some of this a try .
The driveshaft spline issue / clunk is common among all manufacturers , not just the Tacoma .
I agree that this is a lack of lubrication from the factory .
I believe Ford makes a special spline lubricant lube to assist . I havnt tried this stuff in the link below but I have used aftermarket lubricants that eliminate the clunks for long periods of time . Works much better than grease .

Green Grease; just about the best there is, for most any application--most FLAPS stock it...

The dealership I was taking my work Tacoma to wasn't greasing the driveshaft until I specifically called it out.

On my personal truck I use Amsoil multi-purpose.
