we've gone over this before, ...and i've stated that it is reasonable to believe that man-made "emissions" have some kind of effect on the atmosphere - and i think most folks would agree, as we are accustomed to newtonian physics and the laws of thermodynamics...

..that said, do i believe that any man-caused effects are appreciable, in the totality of all perturbations affecting weather? No.

do i believe that current technology (especially the advent of earth observations satellites, spectrometry, thermography, etc) has caused scientists to focus on an extremely narrow epoch in time, thus negating any statistical legitimacy to any long term projections made from such observations? yes.

do i believe there is a cabal of elitists of particular ideological bent who are trying to use weather/climate as a vehicle to redistribute wealth to poor countries, and enrich and empower said elitists in the process - yes, and there's plenty of evidence, beyond coincidence, of it!

so there you have it, again... i hope i am making my position clear! :D

But....If the earth is indeed "warming" as everyone is suggesting, shouldnt the temps get hotter? NOT cooler???

    New topic then.

Why do they call the Kermode bear a spirit bear in B.C.?

I'm not being rhetorical, I'm just curious.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that minor climate changes in most areas are not too big a deal. But average temperature changes of 1 or 2 degrees in certain places have extraordinary global effect. This is not lost on anyone currently planning any infrastructure on any coastline.

People who can't think beyond their own back yard, let alone beyond their own hemisphere, will never get it.

You asked what you could do, and I let you know. It's a reasonable exchange.

    I think we're ruining Pete's thread. :tinfoilhat:
