Maybe we will have new bassprotech floor liners?
I mean, Cabela's threw their stickers on weathertech liners and used to have decent sales.

    Mostly Zip-Ties
Cabela's logo used to be synonymous with quality. If Cabela's endorsed something you knew it was good.

    Used to be...

Worst part is they shut down the Bargain Cave.
Used to get some killer deals on off-season merchandise.

Very unfortunate. I didn't even realize this happened, I make a trip to Cabela's maybe once a year for camping/outdoor gear as it is not a short drive, and I order online from them them maybe 1-2 more times a year, usually for ammo. Watch as these 'mergers' (takeovers) consume companies they do not keep the high quality products the brands are built on, they keep the high profit ratio Chinese products that pad the bottom line and undermine the American worker. It is easy to blame corporate greed for these decisions, but ultimately it is the consumer driving them. This is capitalism, if you disagree vote with your dollar.

Cabela's used to live up to their moto, "Worlds Foremost Outfitter" ... suggest they change it to "Reduced to Red Head".... I'll miss making the pilgrimage stop at the Nebraska flagship store on the way to Elk woods every year.

Guess this was to be expected. I always thought Bass_Pro sold cheap ass shit anyways, all their stores suck too, its like walking into a dimly let giant log cabin made of plastic logs and decorated with fake foliage. Cabela's will probably go the way of Gander Mountain thanks to these jack wagons.

Try RedWing. They make some overseas, but they also still make boots right in Redwing, MN with US leather. I have had a pair of 8" boots for 2 years and only replace the insoles every 6 months or so. My feet have never been wet and the leather has not deteriorated in the least.

Highly suggest Carolina loggers boots. Most durable and waterproof boots I've ever owned.

Red Head gear sucks to the high heavens. I just went to Cabelas the other day and left very sad.

Your right. I remember when they were one of the top of the line retailers for hunting and fishing gear. If you go to their website now since they've restructured/rebranded its mostly crap.

Have the Cabela's Stores gone downhill since they merged with Bass_Pro? I haven't been in a Cabela's store in about 6 years just because the nearest one is several hours away.

They closed the Gander mountain near me
And then reopened it about 6 months later as Gander outdoors. Store doesn't seem as well stocked as before and there pushing a lot of R.V. type stuff now.

Tell me about it. Was only reason I actually went to Cabelas. Rest of the store was lagniappe.

One closest to me had already started to shut down when I moved nearby.
Did get some stuff for great price though.

    How old are you? Lol

I was never a fan of Cabelas. I like Bass Pro. They had a better selection and sizing options over Cabelas. I’m a 5’9’’ bow hunter... their shit is made for 200lb+ men.

I usually just go outer layers with those shops. My under layers are The North Face. Better quality

I've gone to two since the merger several times to the one. There isn't as much merchandise, the quality has decreased. Lots of the stuff that I used to be able to buy there they don't carry in store, the associates aren't as knowledgeable, and they push the Credit Card consistently, I got asked four different times about it the last time just by the girl ringing my wife out and all she bought was one item..

That might work in an outdoorsy state, but there is no option for an independent gear store here in the land of the 1%ers...

I did find a big consignment gear store in Denver when I was out visiting a friend. Coolest place i've been in in a while.
