I thought that there was a bunch of guys that fried their ECUs by getting their morimoto HIDs wet? Or was this just a rumour?

That was also AFMurse2014, and he retracted his claim (had no basis, it was coincidental and he didn't have the proof).

Very interesting thread he made. First it was power washing the truck and it fried his ecu "because" of the HIDs. then drove in the ocean and got sand in his tank like 3 times.

The thread must have got deleted because I was subscribed to it. I was just interested and what the outcome was after talking to the dealer.

    Wow you folks...

None of you got the actual facts. Never once was my ECU fried, that is still the factory ECU. The dealer attributes the truck going into limp mode due to sand getting into the gas tank, however they did blame my headlights on one of the occurrences.

My insurance company was not scammed, the dealer was adamant that it was a vandolism the first time so that's how we ran it... I even called me insurance company to explain and they were like "cool, what ever. Take it up with the service department."

I haven't washed the truck since I got it back, and have had no issues, even when driving through a flooded Reno NV, the floods in CA, and extremely bad roads in the Tahoe region.
It's not my fault the dealer couldn't troubleshoot or that "sand kept getting into the tank"
