    I now own both.
don't wanna sell my 96 now after getting the 09 tacoma I4.

I'll use the I4 when I wanna use the car. And use the the 96 when I need a truck.

I'm only 5'11" and I always felt like my knees were up to my chest in my 94. It was a great truck though despite the problematic 3.0 engine and rust issues.

I liked how the early Tacomas carried over the grill from 89 to 95 style, but personally i did not care much for the gill on the 01-04 and frame rust horror stories scared me from ever buying a 1st gen.

It seems early Toyotas/Tacomas felt so rugged because the were much more simplistic, but I've grown too attached to the comfort of my 2nd gen to go back to an older Toyota for a daily driver. I would however like to find a 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner for project rig someday.

My 1st gen feels the same way about you, and I would have to agree with my truck about that.

After daily driving an 82 4wd Pickup for years and an 88 4runner I kept my eyes open for a clean 89-94 Pickup, could never find one for a good price ($7000 average). Ended up with my 2006 Tacoma, its definitely bigger than I would like, not quite the size of a 1st gen Tundra, its almost like a modern T100 IMO>

Now I want another 2nd gen Tacoma, but I want the 2.7L and a 5spd instead. If my truck sells I might just pick up a really clean 89-94 though, they were built better back then, the 3.0L is not as terrible as people say, just do the headgaskets properly and you'll never have an issue.

STOP! You're all making me mad that I got rid of the 82 with 500k on it that still ran perfect and got 25+mpg. But the leg, elbow and head room is a nice thing on the 2nd gens...........

If OP thinks 2nd generation is big he needs to drive a GMC Sierra. I drove my dads last weekend and it felt like it was wider than the road!

I love the looks and size of the 2nd generation trucks. I had a 1st Gen regular cab 4x4 and for me it was just too small. Both are good trucks IMO. To each his own I guess.

I agree, 2nd gen is awesome looking, with cool mods that really make it look good. I've never had anyone say it was ugly. I had a '92 pickup 4x4 that I loved but it was TINY and needed more room for the business.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
    I completely agree .

And now that we got that out of the way, please take your antics back to the 2nd gen forums.
