Look at the UPS shipping label (upper right of label) on the box. It has the package weight on it. When the label is created, the package weight along with ship to destination is keyed in and printed. That label is of course created on the shipper's end. UPS doesn't check weight unless they are creating the shipping label.

Mine were shipped bare. No box, no wrapping paper, just the leaf pack themselves with a label. From Wheeler's also.

    OP,
I have had boxes that contained heavy items (steering rack/LBJs/bolts/steel target plates/etc) show up empty or missing some contents due to inadequate packaging. Due to rough handling, the heavy item breaks the package and falls out. When UPS/FEDEX/USPS or an airline find a damaged package, they tape the package back up so it can be delivered. Apparently, they make little-to-no effort to put any item outside the package back in the package before taping it up. The reason may be because they don't actually know what was in the package to start with or the item is lost on the conveyor belt somewhere. Last time I received an empty box, USPS had stamped the package "SHIPPED WIHOUT CONTENTS" in red which was a big heads-up that there was a problem. Call and email Wheelers and UPS ASAP & start documenting everything.

Wonder if the person stapling the box couldn’t be bothered to see nothing was actually in the wrapping. Or walked off with some free product and now it’s your headache.

Wheelers had always been a pain to deal with even leading up to the buyout. Their shipping calculator never worked so you always had to call or email and get the shipping adjusted after sending payment, or at least I had to for multiple purchases. The candy in the box wasn’t worth the hassle but they were nice.

I’ve had one issue with All-pro and their customer service was good. But just like any faceless conglomerate company that’s marketed to a niche community the experiences with the Trail Gear folks are going to vary rather than be glowingly positive.

Seems like it. Again I have placed orders and talk to them through the phone with absolutely zero issues. And have helped me on some specific scenarios for processing. Call them 541-474-2879

Gone are the days when Wheelers used to send a little ziplock baggie full of candy with your order. Sad sad sad. Miss that. Felt like you were ordering from a sweet old grandma that just baked you some cookies

Well, there are wheelers stickers in the box.
So someone had to have opened the box. And I can’t see them putting stickers in the box with no product.
I am going with “theft” or “lost in transit” until further information is given.

Seems logical. Also cant see both ends of the box in OPs pic. Pretty easy for leafs to poke their way out Id imagine

They probably have defaults in world ship for different products. I am betting this is far less sinister than everyone is making it out to be, and just a QA issue.

Shipper A probably made a label and prepped the box with packing and stickers

Shipper B was probably supposed to be fetching the springs from the shelf

UPS arrives for pick up, Shipper A tapes the box shut, and off it goes.

I doubt they tried to screw you over, and I am sure that when you get in touch with them they'll get it sorted.

Yeah I've had a few sets of leaf springs over the years and they are always shipped individually and bare, or wrapped in plastic wrap. Never an issue, I mean they sit underneath the truck exposed to all kinds of stuff anyhow

Yeah, The only reason I responded was because OP said, “I feel like I’ve been scammed”
I can’t help how someone feels, but I think that was maybe a poor choice of words.
After all, It’s only been like 1 day? And as of now, Wheelers hasn’t even had a chance to respond.
They might not even know there is an issue at this point?

I say OP might want to give it until the middle of next week.
I bet Wheelers gets it sorted out.

I’m not picking on you OP, so don’t take me as insulting you.
I’m just saying, I don’t think it’s time to start using the word “scammed” just yet.

Icon shipped my RXT's in boxes surrounded with a ton of packing. I was very surprised to see them arrive in perfect condition.
