    That makes sense...

I am in Ohio, but the guy said I either had to be 21 or 25, I don't remember. I agree that it should be on their dime, but I'm not even allowed to rent a car through most places, even if I pay more. Most places just generally won't allow it.

    Quote from https://www.vroomvroomvroom.com/rental-information/teenage-drivers/

The minimum age requirement when renting a car in the United States is 25 years old. However, most major car rental companies allow drivers below 25 years old to drive a rental car as long as they pay the underage driver fee and meet all the requirements. The youngest age allowed to rent a car by some of our suppliers is 18 and this depends on the location as well.

Still in for final results OP. Good luck!

Wind noise... sounds if the TC is on it's way out. The windy noise is it rubbing on the housing, the high revs and unpleasant noise to did slam into a gear or bang?

Your a little paranoid, dude. You seriously think the dealer checks everyone's social media who bring a vehicle in for warranty work. :jerkoff:

Okay, so when I dropped it off Friday they said theyd either call me Friday or Monday(today). I never got a call, so at like 4pm I called them to ask for an update. My service person was “with another client” so the lady put my name and number down and said he’d call me back shortly. Never received a call.

I will definitely give them a call tomorrow morning first thing, but any recommendations on what to do?

Right now you are a bit at their mercy. Waiting is ok for a bit, and certainly calling (politely) for an update is fine.

There are options for next steps, but IMHO its not time for that yet.

I agree. Honestly it might just be tough to diagnose what actually is wrong.

If they don't have an answer in a day or two I am going to tell them that I might bring it elsewhere. Bad idea?

Give them time to jump through the warranty hoops.

Most of the time it is not the dealer tech that is taking a long time on major component issues. They have to deal with a district rep and wait for a go or no go call. At least that is how it works with the gulf states dealer I have worked with.

a little off topic but theres a famous young multimillionaire young golfer named Jordan Spieth and he said in an interview one bummer about being young and rich was that he could not rent a car, anywhere!

Still no phone call, and they haven't even returned my call from yesterday afternoon.

How long should I wait before politely trying again with a phone call?

I'd call everyday. At a minimum you deserve a status, even if its just 'we are waiting on x'.

If you don't have a response tomorrow a call to the Svs Mgr is in order.

If you strike out there, the General Mgr. is up next.

Make it clear you are not seeking miracles, just good communication about the status of your truck. Which you need back for transportation.

Thats pretty common, most rental agencies have an age policy. Way back when I was young, the only place I could find that would rent to me was UHaul...

Its kind of surprising that the dealer enforces that rule for a loaner program though.

Daily, until the end of this week. Then it should be 3x daily.

    Yeah.
Subbed for outcome. Shame you can't get a loaner, but I guess that is the same as renting. I couldn't wait to turn 25 so my insurance would drop. Couldn't even go with any of the major companies, just rinky dink no-namers, and could really only afford minimum liability that cost more in a year than I paid for the dang car.
