There used to be a time when you could simply type “disc brakes?” Into any thread, and hit post, and watch the flames consume entire accounts. It was that easy.

And that’s sorta the dark art of a dumpster fire. Not carpet bombing the thread with sexual in-your-endos. But demolishing an entire empire of conversation with one.quiet.post. It’s not common these days. It was definitely something to behold.

 

Disc brakes

 

The were hordes of people who were furious about the brake situation. 90% of them are gone or have reconciled. These words don’t trigger anymore.

Damn it I wish I was here to see that lol. I do wish I had discs in the rear. Toyotas bs excuse about them being bad for offroad is stupid, but I don't care that much. My truck stops just fine which is what the brakes are for. The REAL problem my truck has is acceleration lol. Need more power and a regear.

There is only one thing, one set of threads left that have that power, and their power is enormous. 4 to 5 times the energetic yield of any other meltdown thread, if one were to initiate the chain reaction. Nope. Theyre busy trading tech tips and diagnosing issues that others cant figure out. Solving actual problems.

We don’t do that because by and large, there are no problems. And because the trucks (minus the v6) are almost identical underneath to the 2nd gen, and these 3rd gens are so new, It’s uncommon for real tech to present itself in this sub forum.

What you end up with is a subforum where the regular topics are tire size and how to make more power. These questions have been hashed out so hard that at this point, there’s nothing left to do but wait for real shit and talk shit.


I’d say that’s good news, honestly.


Give it 5 more years, when actual problems (minor ones) start to surface, you’ll see us buckle down with serious solutions. I think.
