Long story short, bought an upper magnaflow CARB compliant cat conv for my 02 taco in NY state. Went to install it and it has flanges that get in the way of a bracket (cant remove). If I install a non CARB cat will it fail inspection? Does the computer throw a code? Am I relying on mechanics ability to notice the visual difference?

It would only be a visual difference no codes.
