What happens when sound deadening material is available

I started wanting to just plug the big holes in case I decide to put the stick on hoodliner, and then I found myself here... I need to stop it at some point.

I have added a little more. Honestly , I have to call it done at some point before the hood gets too heavy for those shocks. Not sure if I need more or not. No noticeable differenceto my ear.

I can't honestly say that my ears detected any. However, i think there is less vibration in the hood

 

damn that looks good. I don't really like the blue, but it really looks like a professional job.

 

I went down the same rabbit hole a couple weeks ago. I tried not to cover up any of the openings or drain holes and then questioned why I spent hours doing this. I also added some sheets to the vertical plastic panels on each upper side by the battery/fuse block.

It did add noticeable weight to the hood, but I don't expect the hood to be open enough times to be concerned about it. It seems like it made a difference quieting down the engine. Could be placebo though doors up next!

 

I need to cut open those holes and stick it on the outer shell.

 

I am now calling it complete.

 

The 4th gen trucks have a factory hood liner option via premium package.. why are you guys not grabbing that?

I guess, I love punishment and hard work. Also that OEM underhood retail cost is over $400. When it goes on sale, I may grab it.

 

I’m beginning to realize everything Toyota related is outrageously expensive when it comes to dealer items…
Didn’t see this with Ford…

$300 from every site on google except for 1. Worth it for the clean install to me, but to each their own.
