No issues here - fortunately - I bought my truck new in Jan of '19 and now have 98,500 miles on it - a LOT of those in 4WD. I actually am very impressed with this little truck and to me it has been a GREAT value.

    Let's see

Front bumper facia wouldn't stay clipped in all the way.
Passenger door trim / window sash had to be replaced because it shrunk
    The front TSS sensor recall
The transmission firmware had to be updated
Random howling sound no fix was found
The radio was shit, but according to Toyota all is normal
The rear third brake light leaked
The crowning jewel was a fuel pump recall that got so fucked up I had to take it in 3-4 times to get the check engine light to stay off.
The final shove to get me to trade was the TSS light coming on randomly, the blower motor started to rattle along with the dash when it got super cold.

I also made a complaint about the steering idle surge. Theres number of people who claim it's normal, the fuck it is mine would jump to 1200-1400 RPM when it was really cold. I've had dozens of cars in this life and the idle load management with this engine can best be described as piss poor. It would cause the truck to lunge.

In the end I looked at the TSBs and decided to trade it in for something totally different. My truck was a lemon and will easily go down as the worst vehicle purchase ever. It was bad enough that a Nissan Frontier looked like the better option

65k on mine... bought Jan 4 2016. I added a quart of tranny oil, 2 batteries, and my tires wore out. Otherwise has been pretty darn bulletproof.

23k miles and no issues yet. You sound like the sort of person that would complain about any model car you drive.

Stop being a bitch and enjoy your truck.

I ended up getting a holdover 2020 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X with the 3.8.

To some this might seem sacrilegious, but the drivetrain and audio system in this truck in fantastic. I'd agree the interior is dated, it doesn't have all the features of my 2018 TRD OR, but the most important stuff works and works well.

The only thing I miss is proximity door handles. My 2018 Tacoma did a lot of things well, but it also left a lot to be desired

Nissan has made mostly junk for the last decade. Good luck with that.

We are all different right? Some like spicy food some don’t. Same concept here. Some will never be happy :anonymous:

Correct! But not all of us order spicy, then complain that it's too spicy.

I know this will break hearts, but Tacoma quality peaked in 2015 and has been on a downward slide ever since. The 3rd gen is what i'd like to think as a play from the FCA book in building mediocre crap.

No true(IMO). The 3rd gen has too many electronics, sensors and safety crap. More stuff = more stuff to fail. This applies to any newer cars/trucks.
