Reading all these prices at 1/4 what I paid (or less) got me like...

Took the wheels back today (after getting extensive photos) and they seem eager to fix their work, which is... nice, I suppose?

The guy did originally mention just cleaning up the back side, but I insisted they re-blast the wheels down to metal and start over. He seemed to accept that, but made kind of a show about mentioning it to the tech directly in front of me which seemed more :jerkoff: for my benefit than really meaning it.

I could imagine the minute I left he turned around and said "just fix the back side..." but time will tell. I will definitely give much more scrutiny before walking off with the rims after round two, and will never pay these prices again in the future based on the spanking I am receiving on TW for being such a boob.

Ok, I've done a bit of powder coating and from what I can see these have a lot of possible issues. They look like they weren't blasted, at least not the backs. They also look like they were laid flat on a rack to cure and shifted before the powder set. I'm suspect that they are properly cured as well. Coating looks mega thick and if properly cured you could set those on the ground fresh out of the oven and that wouldn't happen

Hope you get it straightened out! I'm looking forward to seeing them on your truck!

    Sorry everyone is :deadhorse:.

FWIW I have seen prices close to this, but it's usually for items that won't fit in the oven to cure where they have to heat it by hand.

Added the Rok Block to the tailgate gap. Smooth install but I got it just a little bit wonky at the end when I was using a roller. I slipped and actually rolled it into the gap, pulled it up immediately but still tore a little off of the underside. Man that stuff sticks!01A4C562-2EFE-4358-B001-04EBEAFBA63E.jpgF40853CB-2A96-4780-A67A-3EDB2189D1C7.jpg FD80127A-627B-4B18-9E18-E9A646808141.jpg

Nothing significant. Just some blind spot mirrors for parking lines and whatnot and a place to hide some cables

I tinted my grill emblem matte black. Link below for the tint I used...
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017MWRSWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_P1VM0KFFAG9TWCDGC5Z5?_encoding=UTF8

I was going to remove the emblem in order to wrap it, but ended up breaking one of the clips that hold it in place so I ended up leaving it on the grill. Cleaned the emblem with soapy water and rubbing alcohol, got it all covered (dry method) then carefully trimmed around the edges with an Xacto knife. I really like the look. Time will tell if I have any problems with the sensor but hopefully not.
    :fingerscrossed:

Got around to putting a coat of Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Coating spray on my truck this morning. I am really liking this stuff.

    DAMN!

I was thinking about just doing a plasti derp white wheels for Ss and Gs a bit. I do black right now, every 6 months I take the wheels off for one reason or another (rotation, whatever is happening, etc) and will hit them with a new coat and it looks good and clean all the time now. Powder coating is a bit more durable but :notsure: at least in black, mine look good all the time - fixes trail rash and curb rash all the time.

Gave the old girl a nose job thanks to @ACEkraut ’s low profile license plate mount! It was nice to find two holes in my bumper cover under the old mount. The two on the driver’s side didn’t even hit the indent... Oh well, I’m thinking about getting a black bumper cover anyway. This silver one refuses to stay clipped in...:notsure:

Because I spend too much time on this forum, I ordered a set of the EGR ventshades. Took about 15 minutes to install all four. I like the look against both the Cement color and the 35% tint of the rear door windows.

    Very easy to install.
