What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

This was on Sunday but picked up a used camper shell. No rush in getting it paint matched yet

 

One of the first assignments in a business writing class I had in college was to write a complete user instruction guide for a product. I chose an irrigation controller since I was intimately familiar with them. But to the point, a manual/ instructions are an essential part of any product that is anything more than water hose nozzle( which, by the way some actually have an instruction card).

 

I am born and raised in Fairmont, WV. That is wild you found that. Really cool to see lol

There is a hole behind the bumper caps but making sure you hit the hole is the tricky part.
I used the rubber gasket for a a template to cut my hole but if you look at the pictures on that thread I posted where he is holding the light over the hole, that's exactly how I cut it.
Which you can see where the bolt hole for the light is over the solid part, I did that so I couldn't get the nut on that one.
I put the one nut on then put the bumper caps back on,
Then drilled a small pilot hole (smaller then the bolt) into the solid part,
Then I just let bolt self tap into the solid part.
If I would of moved my cut over just half inch or so, I could of bolted both sides on to the cap before putting the cap back on.
There's a gap to run wires, I didn't have to drill any holes for wires.
Take some measurements with pictures of your bumper cap before you take it off, use an pencil or erasable marker to make some marks.

I got it off of instagram. His handle is @C_Mento_Taco_808 and he makes these vinyl overlay himself. He has some designs already made, and I believe he can custom make you whatever you want for an extra cost. Super easy to purchase via paypal, and I received mine after about 5 days from purchase. He provides instructional videos how to install it as well which are very helpful. The vinyl is a good quality, and if you ever want to take it off in the future you still have the original emblem underneath which is nice.

No issues with the toyota safety sensor and cruise control; did an 800-mile road trip yesterday for work and it performed with no issues.

 

I got both parts from Amazon, and they were genuine.

Love these grills. I want to do this next.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask (shame me if it is), but are these grills the $400 TRD's or the $200 knock-offs (Infamous Amazon "TOTOYA" Grills)? I've got no problems with knock-offs if the quality isn't that far off.

Has anyone had both and compared?

 

*I* need directions on how to screw on skid plates. How is that a problem? Companies should send out directions with equipment meant to modify a vehicle. Period.

Interesting. I may need to climb back in mine and check again, I don't recall if I grounded to that screw or that silver bolt next to it.

are those plastic or like a thick vinyl sticker

 

On my ‘18 I didn’t see any other bolts nearby. The silver bolt on your ‘20 might be the same gnd but saves you messing with the fuse box gnd cluster.

 

More of a thick, textured vinyl sticker with an adhesive backing.
