Beautiful picture. But wait a second. You need a hiking permit? Seriously?

That's a horrible idea. What time?
We're just starting to plan. We scheduled a week, but if I can get the truck ready, I'm going to add two weeks and take the truck. I can't are some time and my wife will fly out.

I don't think it would be any easier on the knees than the stock panel. The plastic is quite a bit thicker than I expected based on pictures alone, and it doesn't have anywhere near as much give as the stock panel. My knees are in rough shape already, so I don't think I'll be kneeling on it anytime soon. Otherwise, I think it's a solid upgrade. Fitment was good, but the pre-drilled holes weren't perfect (some off by 1-2mm at most). I got it back together though, so no serious complaints. I got the Mountain Hatch mostly for camping and tailgating. Haven't had a chance to do either yet this year, unfortunately, but it will be nice having a smoother surface to work with when the time comes. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

If it's on your wish list, I'd hold out until a holiday sale. Looks like they're doing 20% off right now for Memorial Day, and that's the same discount I got last year. I think I mentioned in my initial post that I bought it on Black Friday, but after going back through my email, it seems I actually made the purchase during their Christmas sale.

Sorry to ask again, but who made the Sub box? I'm waiting on one from Mr Marv right now.

...^^^... I am very fortunate (and sometimes feel guilty) to be alive also .... this day is very special for me .... I feel the same way for the other military members that did not return and were KIA and never got to experience life because they died at such a young age. ..... May they stay forever young ...

Here is a giant flag that I see several times a week when I go to this small local cafe for lunch.

This American Flag is GIGANTIC and the pic does not show it's true size .... biggest flag I have ever seen in my life.

    Happy Memorial Day

What was the leak from? What did you use to clean it up? Was it mold?

yup unfortunately. The full name of the walk is south coyote buttes. Its a part of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs wilderness. It is managed by the BLM and they limit it to 20 people per day. I haven’t even bothered to mention the North coyote butte hike, better known as The Wave. Trying to draw a permit for that is extremely unlikely. We went there in early February and 90 people showed up for 14 permits. In the peak season hundreds can show up for 6-10 permits

South Coyote Buttes is one of two of the most spectacular hikes ( maybe three miles in length) we’ve done over seven months and 20,000 miles of exploring the western US. Here’s more info:

They start the lottery for October tomorrow and it runs through the end of the month, so you’d know by July 1st whether or not you’re going.

It’s a long drive as l just did it but it having a true 4wd gives peace of mind. could be accessed using an awd vehicle but there’s some sandy sections.

have fun, it’s a beautiful time to go

Built a PVC bike rack to carry 3 bikes in the bed. I have a 1UP 2-bike hitch rack on order but it is going to take a while due to backlogs, plus a Prinsu on the way which I will have 1 or 2 additional carriers on. So this is short term solution for the bed, but a permanent solution to stand up the wife and kid's bikes in the garage. I have wall racks for my bikes, so it is nice to finally have an inexpensive solution for the family bikes.

    https://www.instructables.com/Truckbed-Bike-Rack/

Used the above link for the build plan, took about 2 hours. Looks real easy but you have to plan some of the final gluing sequences very carefully. I did make one mistake when one of the joints seized up before I had the piece in its correct position. Had to cut it out and reposition with a coupler. The plans call for 4 10' pieces of 3/4" PVC. I have two full 10' pieces leftover. I would advise to only get 3 so you have some extra for mistakes. Also get some 3/4" couplers and extra elbows and T's, also for mistakes. They are inexpensive insurance to avoid another trip to the store.

I bought clear glue hoping to keep it a clean look, but couldn't find clear primer so used the purple. I am going to end up taking a rattle can to it at some point because it looks messy with the glue joints.

I believe my Giant Trance has ~2.3" wide tires and they fit snug. Be cautious with the smaller ~2" cuts to not make the wheel section too narrow for your tires.

Ah. Yes it's reused in the instalation. You can prob buy one from Toyota. Hopefully it's relatively cheap.
    Maybe.
