What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

29 months old. About to turn 24000 miles. Finally I did this. I had door edge, behind the door handles, and rear fender I also have it on the whole hood and door mirrors I think I’ll leave those alone for now once I figured out not to get it TOO hot, it all came off in once piece took about and hour for both sides

 

Mine has that in all the places you mention as well, I can't imagine what it'll look like in years to come sitting outside all the time.

 

Luckily mine doesn't look bad!

 

It wasn’t bad to remove. I got a heat gun. Just don’t get it too hot. Then sprayed bug and tar remover on it and let it sit fit a few minutes. Wiped right off.

 

It sticks out like a sore thumb on white!

 

That's cool, I wish Kentucky had a POW/MIA version like that, that's nice.

Missouri does offer a few other options, but this was the best looking one. I'll take some screen shots of the other options.

One of the most embarrasing items on the 3rd Gen, at least the 2021, is how small the diameter is of the drink holders. Only my kids travel cups fit cleanly. I even bought the most narrow hydro flask I could find at 24oz and 2.75" wide (Yes I know they are over-priced but I got them on sale so it wasn't as bad!) and those don't fit cleanly.

I evaluated the mods that fit in the holder with a wider top. The Tacoma cab is tight enough so I opted to not do that. Instead I bought a handful of cup holder coasters off Amazon for $2.99 per pair. I then took some velcro squares, the "loop" side of the velcro as they are softer, and put then around the rim of the holders, about 2/3rds of the way up.

The coasters raise the bottom of the holder up enough so the 24oz hydro-flask does not hit the sides. The velcro stabalizes the hydro flask since the holders get wider as it gets towards the top.

• The front takes one coaster per side
• The one behind the shifter gets 2 stacked on each other
• The ones is the back are the worst, they require 4 stacked to raise the bottom enough.

Yes I got the green hydro flask to nearly match the Army Green!

I did check this out before I did mine. I am hesitant to pull the rail up, seems whenever I mess with something like that on a vehicle I break a clip! I am going to try mine out and see how it works out in the next few months. If I feel like I need more space I will give this a try. I'll pay attention to my side leg space, but I do like that these are soft and press in when not is use. Plus can double as extra storage space for other stuff.

Very creative solution you had, might be the best one I have seen. Just not ready for it yet.

The center console comes up really easy and you shouldn't break any clips as long as you don't gorilla it. My wife is more than stoked on the new set up as she was tired of my yeti bottle banging into her ankles....lol
