Was wondering if any one has done something for this. I know it is anal, but that is how I roll....

Looking for any thoughts or things others have done to prevent rock chips from rusting so it doesn't look like total crap until it is bad enough to remove and have them re-powder coated?

And a gentle dab of some flat black rustoleum on a sponge or foam blush should hide any chips or scratches.

Doh! :facepalm:never even thought to check actually. regardless want to touch them up, had considered rustoleum or possibly even some flex seal on the faces. Maybe it would help prevent additional chips. Was curious if others had tried something with success.

    Appreciate the replies!

interesting; very interesting! i appreciate the info.

last question: do you have rails installed back there? And if so, can the cleats stay on with the cover down?

I debated between Geoloanders and KM3's. Went with BFG. From reviews I read, they're quieter on roads and last longer. But they do cost more. Buy once cry once. I previously ran ko2's. The KM3's are very good off road I will add.

285/75/17 KM3's. The wheels are Ray10's 17x8.5 -10. "A little over stock" was referencing the lift over stock.

I've been looking at going up to a 33" from my stock tire size, but I'm hesitant to do any trimming. How much (if any) did you have to trim to fit these tires? I have an Eibach Pro Truck Stage 1 on my truck with about 2" of lift. I feel like that would classify as "a little over stock", but I'm unsure if I can stuff 33s under my truck and get away with it. I'm still trying to get a feel for what I can and can't do.

Dress that cute girl in black leather, fake tattoos and sunglasses. Slap a malt liquor sticker on the silly cup. Maybe a black water pistol and this would look legit.

I had a CMC + pinch weld flattened down. I trimmed some of the inner fender near the cab side. Also used a heat gun to mold the fender lining back a little. The offset of your wheels will play a huge factor in how much you rub, the more negative offset you run, plan on trimming more. If you plan on wheeling the truck a lot I say its worth it. I still rub on the cab mount but very minimal at full lock. These tires are measured at 33.9". I was going to run 35's but was not wanting to trim my fenders. I figured the clearance you get was marginal at best factoring in the weight on the tires + worse gas mileage + wear on drive shafts/transmission. I am also on factory gears and would like to eventually get 5.29's
