Out to lunch on this one but I just painted a chrome tailgate handle and surround for my 17 Tacoma SR
I kept the chrome handle but decided the chrome surround was to much. I then painted it with a red clear coat because I still wanted the chrome coming through. Im thinking about going with Barcelona Red. Should I before I install this? I never cared for the original black ones.
The interior is next. I ordered a Carid aluminum interior kit and am preparing to remove several interior pieces to be painted. I wont use the complete kit because it is over kill but wanted certain pieces. The paints I am using will be silver metallic and graphite on the dash, doors and console.
Appreciate your opinions on the tail gate handle.

I vote to paint the tailgate handle and surround Barcelona Red so it will blend in and vanish. This would give a nice smooth look and let the chrome letters provide the focal "pop".
You really have an awesome look going there, about perfect as is.

Haven’t gotten the Front Runner bars yet. That might be a spring purchase. :)

Installed this kit yesterday. So far, I like it, but only time will tell. Also regeared with 4.88’s and had the KD Max tune done. Shaping up nicely!

    Deflater Tip You Might Use.

I painted my Staun Deflators each a different color for a couple of reasons:

    1. Set each color at a different pressure, for different terrains. I do have to use that same color on each tire, four times-as long to deflate from my normal 35-lb, but that is ok and well worth it.

    Example a color for each:
    12lb-Red@Rock
    15lb-White@Beach,
    18lb-Blue@Desert,
    24lb-Black@Dirt/gravel.

    Please see photos below.

    or

    2. Set all to the same pressure. Fast truck deflate time. By time I put on the fourth one, first one is done.

I always put them on in Red (LF) White (RF), Blue (RR) and Black(LR) in wheel order, in case one is slightly off pressure after an air down per my Tacoma truck gauge.

Then when back home, if needed, I know which one to tweak/correct for my next adventure. This helped me stabilize the initial settings. They generally stay correct after couple of tweaks.

Installed the @Tacovinyl molle panels for the doors. Managed to keep the foam insulation intact (minus some small shaving to fit the washer and nut). Quick and fun project.

You're doing chrome correctly. Between the classic wheels, the bed rails, and the handle you have a solid look . I think Barcelona red on the surround would be good.

Not so much what I did to my Tacoma, more what I did for my Tacoma. Not bad for a DIY. Thoughts?

Did the truck's undercoating myself using Blaster surface shield. 6 cans cost $55 from Home Depot. I laid some cardboard down but the driveway is still covered in a layer of oil.
I got a set of Rhino Ramps to help me get underneath. They seem to be of good quality but it's still kinda scary being under the truck with just some plastic holding it up over you.
Most likely I'll have it done professionally from now on.

Do one at a time. Drive it for a bit between the two mods. If you have luck like mine I chased a vibration which eventually was figured out however would have been much easier had I not done tires and the levelling kit at the same time.
Trust me. Do one at a time.

I used Rhino ramps when installing the TRD Pro skid but I still had a jack underneath for extra piece of mind.

Replaced red decals with blue and white on Yakima bike racks. Then took them off my BillieBars to store away for the winter.

I wish I could have gotten a contractor. That was a lot of work, but my wife said she approves of expanding the driveway, but she didn’t want anymore debt. I still have one more slab to do, but I have to save up for it. That was A LOT of work (do I need to say that anymore?). I’m not ready to jump right back into it again.
