I posted this in the Awning Threads but those just don't get too much foot traffic:

Looking for a small / reasonably priced awning. Anyone have a 4 or 5 footer from CVT or OVS? Or even the cheap Yescom one from EBay that seems to be popular?

I’m really just trying to find out how beefy / sturdy the poles are. Both the legs and the overhead poles running from the rack to the legs.

I just don’t need a big expensive awning that I'm expecting to hold up in a wild storm or crazy wind. We really just like them for a kitchen setup with a covered proximity to the truck. I’ve got some hanging kitchen gear that we love but I’m usually just stringing rope everywhere lol. We've got a big Easy-Up we use and of course there's always our trusty tarps. I just figured these overhead poles on the awning could act as a solid place to hang everything but I can't tell which are more "heavy duty" out of CVT and OVS from the pics on the site. No dimensions are listed in the product description either. If anyone has experience it would be greatly appreciated as always! TIA!

I got the Yakima slim shady from the REI warehouse online store on sale a couple months ago for less than 200 bucks. Keep an eye out and see if they go on sale again. It's the 6 ft version and comes with adapters to work with most roof racks but will also work with the ARB awning brackets.

Nice! Are the poles decently sturdy? As in, would hold a hanging kitchen / washed dishes hung up to dry? Stuff like that?

What colors? Bag, awning, and poles? Doesn't matter at the end of the day but never know when you're gonna feel dumb if a bright purple bag with a huge logo is gonna show up lol

ARE topper. Mud guards, factory steps, third bed rail behind cab, tacorail accessory holder, ram mount tablet mount, hood wrap and retro stripes. Bug shield and window shields. Molle seat cover on tear seat.
I retired before smart phones, but the flip cells were in use. Honestly we didn't think about talking on the phone then, but today texting is nuts.
Also, I understand that it's possible to get data from Toyota if needed from the onboard system they have. I don't know what kind of procedure they would have to go through. Corvette had a black box installed back when I still Po-Po'ed.

I'm super confused by the quote with a blank reply. Was it just a glitched comment, or negligent discharge, or something?

At least it hit the windshield. That can be replaced in the parking lot at work. It would've been more annoying if it had been a few inches to the right.

Ouch! Do you have the GoPro mount on your windshield? I've fixed so many dings in my windshield and I'm paranoid if I have to replace, that specific type windshield may not be available. I have my dashcam in the GoPro mount.

Just picked up a TRD exhaust, got home and threw it on and took a spin around the block. I absolutely love it.

Yeah I have the Gopro mount. I'm hoping they say we can fix the windshield, but I doubt it.

I got my windshield replaced in late 2020 or early 2021 and accidentally said yes to the integrated gopro mount and it was available if that makes y'all feel any better. They're around. Worst case I bet you could use some VHB tape to stick a mount on there.

Oh man.... can't tell you how sturdy it is. Only had it out to test so far. Seemed OK, but not sure how much weight you'd want to pull off it.

    Not purple though :)
