I want to add a hidden winch to my 22 OR. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos, and the most compelling is a 9.5K Rough Country. Before I do that, anyone have recommendations? Why? I’m trying to stay at $800 winch and mount.

I try to do the same when necessary (i.e., Trader Joe’s) although parking is one thing at TJ’s navigating in and out can be a real test of patience.

Edit: This actually true of any TJ’s I’ve been to in California o_O

DCSB vs DCLB. Are you a car guy or a truck guy? With the DCLB you can haul people, haul lumber and pull a trailer (and look good too). Nuff said.

Cool, thanks. Did this single harness work for all four lights? Also, was it a bitch to adapt it to an OEM type switch? That's my goal. Dave here on the site has a harness that is pretty much plug and play, but I'm trying to get smarter on electrical. right now i'm below a novice with this. My lights keep calling my name to install!!!!

Glad you’re happy with your DCLB  I love my DCSB, but I don’t haul lumber or pull trailers I use mine as a DD and off-roading only. To each their own!

That's part of the reason I have a 10ft trailer. Short Bed for better daily driving, and long trailer for things that don't fit securely in a short bed. I haven't used my trailer once since I got the truck (to be fair it's only been 5 or 6 weeks, and it's winter).

Yes you can put all 4 lights on the one harness leg - the power draw from just 4 rocks lights is very low (0.4 amps x 4). OEM switch install is easy - see the video below.

I don’t have a lot of experience driving on ice, snow or sleet but I’m sure adding a trailer with an electric brake has to be tricky! I’ve seen that show Ice Road Truckers and that’s some sketchy stuff! Honestly don’t think I would do well in that kind of environment, would probably end up dead or in jail. :cookiemonster:

I'm not sure how well I would either. Then again, nobody is holding a gun to either of our heads telling us to do it. If the weather makes it too sketchy for my level of comfort, I just won't do it. I'll just wait until the next weekend if I have to.

That's behind the rear wheel (leaf springs in the second photo and its behind the mud flap). He would've needed a high-clearance wrap-around bumper replacement to save him.

@Montana_Actual this is not an exact comparison but I did a bulb-swap on our 4Runner, I believe that kit came from Headlight Revolution, IMO these lights are much brighter. Granted that could have something to do with the LEDs being exposed as opposed to under the plastic cover if it's just a bulb-swap. Only time I miss having a cover over them is if it's pitch black outside, but at that point I swap to the red output.

It's part of the design plan.
