For the interior there are no VOC options like Lizard Skin that are actually rated for heat and sound suppression rather than a bed liner.

I installed the N2 remote starter and smart phone module. About a one hour install doing it the first time. No annual bs Toyota subscription fee for the factory remote starter! Yay for an awesome Tacoma after-market parts selection.

Were you not able to remote start in proximity of the truck with your key fob by triple clicking the LOCK button?

yes, three clicks on my fob’s lock button works great. The smart phone module works when I’m out of range. In retrospect the key fob may be enough but I ordered and installed the starter and smart phone module at the same time.

That’s good to hear. My truck didn’t come equipped with remote start so I went straight to after market.

    Understood.
My 2017 did not come with the remote start feature. N2 is a great product. Been using it quite often lately.

That’s a CONUS pass time, too. At least if you keep up with mainstream media.

That's what I have (RRW bolt on) and am really happy with them. Good score on your part.
Don't get use to the traction boards being inside. When you need them and use them for real, they'll be way too nasty to put back inside the cab. But fine for now...

Do as I say. Not as I do.

Seriously, I get what you're saying. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

But for reference, this what taken from inside my truck.

Ripped out my sub, rear molle panel, amp, seatcovers so the dealership can tear down my interior for the 3rd brake light fix and clean the interior for mold. Luckily the dealership is basically going to buy it for almost what I paid for it, 5 years later (not related to the recall, the used prices are just that high right now). Thanks Toyota I guess. Have had a Tacoma since the age of 16 (I'm 38), sad to finally be moving on, but this third gen was a bad experience all the way around. Hope you all enjoy your trucks.

I think one should be moulded to fit in the cupholders that your gun could just slide into.

That is too bad. The rear brake light design has been a headache for so many loyal Taco owners. If Toyota had done the same 3rd brake light as the Access Cab all that frustration and unnecessary cost could have been avoided.

I'm downsizing for a year and keeping my daughters Outback while she is in school. Will pickup a Tundra when they settle down and are available and have no issues. Would be nice to get a bigger truck with the same or better mileage and without this weird transmission (and able to tow). If I had to do it all over again, I would have kept my 05. But you live and learn I guess.
