Every day it annoys me just a little bit that I have to pull my keys back out of my pocket every time I walk up to the truck just because Toyota wouldn't bless the MT with keyless ignition. Assholes. The one mod that seemingly cannot be done.

Dude, just get some headlight tint and knock down the chrome from the outside. That's what I was going to do before I figured out I wouldn't have the truck for much longer. Actually tried to do it but figured out that I'd need to make it a two piece layup for my skill level.

    Oh look, another mod....

I had the same gripe. I didn't want ANY chrome on the tail lights. So, I brought these. (I also installed the MESO stage 1 kit to make them very bright):

Bought USRs DEPO blacked out tail lights as well. It's a subtle difference, but the lights are solid, pretty much OEM, and about a 5 minute install for each light.

RDJ Trucks. They have a few options for the Tacoma. Wanted coverage for my wider tires, and these streamline flares extend an extra 1.5 in or so, lining up perfectly with the outside of the 285's. No more debris up on the paint. They will color match them as well. Not many people notice the wider flares, which i like.

Here are some before and afters:

For me it wasn’t necessarily to get brighter lights but to get a better color light to match the rest of the bulbs I replaced with LEDs.

Love it. It's the HD so tough as hell. It essentially made my entire bed a lockable tool box. Fairly easy install as well. Bought their 8in bin also, and I can fit two Clevermade crates underneath with Misc. gear. Still have a lot of bed left over for actual truck stuff. Ha. No regrets at all with the Diamond back. One of my top 3 mods.

Thanks. My last Tacoma gave me 16 years of trouble free driving. No brainer going with a new Tacoma to replace her. Still have a few more tiny mods to knock out, but I'm loving the truck so far.

That would get me into the truck, but I'd still have to pull out my keys to start it. Every aftermarket keyless ignition requires chopping into the harness and disabling the keyed ignition. Also, I don't understand why the keyless ignition on the automatic Taco's doesn't have a keyed ignition backup. Really makes me miss my Mazda a little more every day.
