I would look at salvage yards to get one at a better price than new purchase.
Look for 2019 and earlier as they were discontinued for some reason in '20

 

Very good thank you. I had an 2018 with that cubby and I miss it. I even have the metal liner box for it. I might even humor the idea of making the trim and door for it since I have the box.

 

The driver door harness rubber loom thingy is taped shut where it goes in the cab. I said screw it and cheated on that one only. Zip tied it to the outside. The rest I pulled the plug from each side of the door and cab, used a coat hanger, sprayed a little silicone grease as lube in side, squeezed the ends to make it as collapsed as possible to get the hanger thru and fish the wire

Yup there is a heck of a lot of beauty in BC, so much to explore.

Been at it since I was 4 years old and can’t stop.

All our family did was fish, hunt, hike, water ski, etc throughout BC, towing the 16 foot wooden boat my dad built. All year long. Ice fishing in winter throughout the Cariboo region, salmon fishing all along the Vancouver area coastline, and trout fishing all over BC. About 20 outings per year.

 

That’s nothing. In Kelowna BC standard gas right now is $2.14 per liter

At 80 liters it is $171 CDN. Convert to US$ it is $131 US for a fill here.

Vancouver gas is at $2.27 per liter so $139 US. Still a heck of a lot cheaper gas in the US.

I just used a wire coat hanger to fish it through on both sides when I ran some wiring. Just took my time and had no issues.

 

I've been following your build, and I hope that you get this fixed!

You've removed all the electronics, so big brother couldn't follow you,
which likely caused a cluster malfunction,
which caused you to get pulled over twice.

I'd recommend Google maps to set your speed for now, but I have a feeling you're not down with that.

You could swap clusters with a friend to troubleshoot, but you run the risk of damaging the other cluster if there is a voltage/short problem in your truck. You might try your cluster in someone's truck to see if it works there.

Besides reinstalling all the nanny electronics to troubleshoot, a new cluster might be in your future.

 

Used the Tacoma to pick up some crown molding yesterday. I was a little unsure about carrying the 16ft pieces but it did fine. Put a towel in the middle of the dash so it wouldn’t get scratched and tied it together.

 

Putting in a new battery today as it has died without warning. 2017 with 25K miles so it lasted 5 years not too bad.

I can start and stop it without problems but if it sits for longer than an hour the starter just makes a rapid clicking noise. Jumping it works so gotta be the battery.

Washed, clayed and waxed today. Gave her a good detailing inside and out. After 20+ years of owning utilitarian full size crew cabs hauling kids and boats to the lake every weekend and snowmobiles and ATVs up north it’s nice to be back in a smaller truck. I’ve really enjoyed this thing for the last few years. Tinkering with mods makes me feel like a kid again lol.

 

Installed the VLED footwells (front and rear)


and then installed some new Tail Lights.

 

Does it work when connected through CarPlay though?

 

Well had my new tires installed yesterday Cooper Endeaver M/Ts 265/75/16 alittle more meat than my other Coopers abit of noise off the rear but not to bad

 

Just installed License Plate Light DIR from FBC Harness Solutions. (No pictures)

 

Free Mod: I sanded the white off the letters on the dealership license plate frames. I wanted black plate frames but with less pop on the advertising. Goes better with my debadged Taco.

 

This is a mod I have been thinking about doing for awhile:

I would like comments (pro's and con's) from the peanut gallery to help me make a final decision.

Oh, and I won't have a relay switch installed, I would plug it straight into my regular horn.
