Well, first one is sealed, and waiting for a few connectors to finish the wiring. Looking back, I shoulda just bought already made retrofits (more expensive) or oem led lol. The second one is well on its way, when the humidititty drops to a reasonable level I'll get everything painted.

It would have been easier to buy but sometimes it's good to tackle stuff like this. You learn something new or sharpen skills you already had. Sometimes it's about the process, not necessarily the practicality. I get it. Carry on.

20 year automotive tech, my skills are arthritis and rickety knees and hips lol. The only 'bad' part is cleaning the channels of the old permaseal. A good carbide bit and low speed die grinder ate thru the leftovers quickly but made a huge mess (to be expected). Bringing the heat gun home to hopefully get thru it quicker for the second housing, as that's the only off-putting part of this whole ordeal.

Sometimes the most important thing I've learned from those types of projects is: "I never want to do that again!" LOL

In my time as a tech, I've learned that lesson many, many times. *send this shit to the dealer* is my favorite line as I move on to gravy work and an 80 hour flagged paycheck in a 40 hour week.

Side note: someone could make a small fortune selling already opened and cleaned or bare headlight assemblies at a reasonable rate. I'll have 3-4 hrs total in opening assemblies and cleaning permaseal lol.

Please don't let this come across wrong, it's an enjoyable project and really isn't hard work so to speak. Patience and attention to detail go a long way.

I did my tundra a few weeks ago

I’ve seen you do a lot of light work with a lot of LED’s, have you checked out some of the vled pods? I’ve been using them for most of my tundra projects lately, puddles, turn signals, footwell lights. I’ll be adding a few more to Both trucks for a rear facing puddle / curtesy light next to the license plate

I have the 4wp bumper. Thing is built very solid and it’s very customizable. I looked at many on the market and lots of these other brands didn’t offer anything better for the price they were listed for. Sso slimline would be the most comparable and they seem to have a quality product

Installed the OEM transmission skid plate. My SR5 didn’t come with one and needed temporary protection until I can get the TRD skid plate.

I have at least some sort of protection for the oil pan now.

Not the best pic but super stoked cause @DannTheMan had this awesome Seibon carbon fiber hood with some Baja Squadron ditch lights for a swap and some cash and we switched out a few days ago.

I love it!! Havent had a chance to set up the lights so they actually turn on but I love the look so far!

Okay, gather around. There is a built in air pocket in the reservoir tank that will prevent you from filling it up. That hole, will allow the tank capacity to increase bringing the Fill-level up to that hole. Hope that helps! :hattip:

I was a bit limited to the size I could use based on the hole that I created in that specific location already. Will take a look at those for future projects.

I would like the look of that, plus the parking lot protection when stowed. I do like the flat solid tread as opposed to a hoop or smaller plate to step on.

I like the AMP steps. Those look really good. You did an excellent job getting them to fit. That is the reason I haven’t got a set yet. Did not like they way they fit, but yours look good. Nice job.

Installed the DV8 winch mount bumper with the DV8 license plate mount and a Smittybilt 10k winch. Winch is awesome and fits in the bumper. I’m not too sure about the bumper. The fitment is not so great and the angle the winch rope goes over the fairlead makes it rub against the edge of the winch plate. I may look at putting the slot for the fairlead where the DV8 emblem cutout is. That would seem to line up to the winch spool better. The license plate mount does not work on their bumper. It does not raise high enough to get it out of the way of the rope and the driving position points the plate at the ground. :confused:CE121F34-7913-4AAA-BCFC-384CE72FA4EA.jpg11190115-3C65-4425-9B7D-B6643505A373.jpg77251010-46DD-40BF-9A2E-B859970C840A.jpg

I looked at that bumper, but one thing ultimately swayed me away from it:

Honestly I'm not an engineer so I don't know what loads those mount brackets can really take.

It's a good looking bumper. All I can say is if you wind up keeping it, be overly cautious when operating the winch.
