I went through so frickin' many of those elastic ones that I finally invested in the steel spring ones. That was circa 1973. I still use the spring ones today when hiking in tick territory (or any time I want to look good).

    Nice.
I would suggest putting a rubber end cap on the bottom of the vertical steel bars. To protect the fiber bed from the constant vibrating grind they will impart.

I’ve got some of the steel spring ones as well I use in the field mainly (one less thing to get wet). So many uses for boot bands beside keeping your pant legs up. A little electrical tape on the clasps for a better hold helps

I like the mounts. Are the lower ends slotted into tthe bed? Also, what kind of bolt did you use through the rail? Thanks....

I'm buying more now! lol. The rest of you guys....get some....keeps from having your pant leg drag all over the ground. Now if there was something to keep peoples pants up above their ass crack, I'd buy a crap load and donate them to the plumbers union!

I didn't do a build thread. My buddy is trying to get a start with his fab company and I helped him put it together. If you're interested we are located in PA.

I’m wondering if the dongle messes with the circuitry of the truck? I have puddle pods and a Meso KC5 brake light..Nothing else really (lightbars etc) I’ve just been hesitant on buying & installing a dash cam because I don’t want to fry any circuitry.

I do think it’s a must have mod just been dragging my feet.

I’m curious what your thoughts on the exhaust are too. Also it looks like your muffler is dented, I’m fairly sure mine is perfectly smooth on the side.

Yeah it was dented when it came, I didn’t sweat it and installed it anyway, figured it was functionally fine and it’s like not anyones going to see it.

As far as my thoughts on it, I think it sounds fine except when sending it at about 5000 rpm’s it goes silent into this weird whooshing air sound. Kind of strange. Other than that I think it sounds pretty good, doesn’t drone as much as my wife’s TRD Pro 4Runner.

    You have one too?

I only ran it for a little over a week and it was too loud for me. I have a supercharger which I’m sure contributed to the noise. I switched to the Magnaflow Overland exhaust and I’m happy with that.

I have had the dongle powering my dash cam for a few years now with zero issues.
