i would extend the controller wiring into the truck, otherwise every temp adjustment is going to require getting out of the truck!

If you have a mechanics creeper then lay the skid plate on your chest, slide under, lift plate up and get the 2x rear bolts started. Then middle and front.

Installed the front bed rail and added a little weather-stripping on the corner gaps of my MX4 tonneau cover.

The bed rail was so simple I did it mostly with my one usable arm (and I got to use my new T30 socket bit - always a good day to use a new tool :) ). I didn't need to loosen or remove the MX4 rails.I haven't had water get into the bed except when I took to the car wash last week but decided to discourage even that a bit.

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..

Canada's a huge country. Where exactly are you planning on going? It's -24C/-11F in Calgary right now. You wouldn't want to be sleeping in a truck, additional heating or not.

I bought one of the non-OEM ones from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B9GD8879
I read through a bunch of the reviews on the non-OEM steps on Amazon before buying. It's very sturdy and makes it really easy to access the bed. Prior to the step, I always felt like I might fall backwards when hopping onto the tailgate from the ground. Especially when it was raining outside. :)

With the success of my redneck bluesea prototypes 1 and 2 used in both the 84 hilux and my p-pumped 24v, I figured I should have one in the 2019. I've reworked what I already had in place and have now fully isolated one system from another. To break it down, I have this panel hooked to the 2nd battery which at the moment is not running with the main. I have a manual throw lever that separates them for whatever reason I would need. The kicker here, what makes my design unique, is the kill switch can go ground or positive depending on my electrical configuration. Why would one need such an over engineered setup? One, solar, two, inverter (with or w/o solar included) three, use of 2 batteries without any extra load pulling from it for high amperage stick welding which I'm still fine tuning. I've gone as high as 180 before shit gets out of hand. This build should solve that problem without having to disconnect everything from the battery itself. I'm putting together a build sheet on just the electrical which will be in 3 parts. That'll include the reconfiguring of the alternator, pulley part number, belt size and part number, and a complete diagram of how all the wires and such are run so anyone that wants to f*** their truck's warranty 100% will be able to. A question I've received more than any other, "how can you weld on your own rig and not run into issues?" That little trade secret is not that secret if you understand how the flow of water and pumps work. Think "path of least resistance" although current doesn't actually flow, it still has to be able to move freely in its environment. If you run 3 mud pumps while drilling and the driller then finds an exponential loss of fluid bcuz of formation and then the derrickhand has to run the hopper full bore to keep up, that would be impeded if some dumbass worm goes and throws the handle closed going up to the Kelly. That's called deadheading. Same principle in electrical whether that's ac or dc. So to get back to the question, I simply isolate the delicate components i.e. ecm/pcm etc by having them on a separate battery the alternator is not powering, but rather hooked to solar all while grounded to an external source that's not attached to the truck. I'll step down off my soap box but I hope somebody found this informative. And no, I have no degree in anything including high school, mostly due to the fact reverse engineering doesn't have its own program yet and I have no desire to be told what to read. I'd rather find my interests and proceed from there.

I'm just over the border in eastern Montana, I know for easier starting my tacoma likes a 34/78 battery. I can start it on one if I have to without trouble.

    Enough for now
looks great! What are your tires rubbing on? I plan on getting the exact same ones and size after a cab mount relocation
