I was originally going to use ss5 pods as well but those Prowlr lights were on sale for $125 each and was too good of a deal to pass up. Plus I was worried about the grill blocking a lot of the light so I figured get the biggest lights possible lol.
This summer I am putting on a stealth bumper with a bull bar on it so I will be switching my grill back to a standard OR style grill so the TSS doesn't get blocked by the hoop on the bumper.
So once I get everything wired I will take before and after photos with the lights on behind both grills.

All the hardware I got on Amazon

You would make an awesome neighbor :)

Does anyone know why it is that newer cars have no tow hooks or even places to connect a tow rope? I'm not expecting recovery points; just something basic to give a little tug. A friend got stuck last year in a MX5 and there was literally a flat plastic sheet under the whole engine compartment; absolutely no place to connect a basic strap. Just curious so that I can be helpful but not be stopping for situations I can't help with.

Most modern cars have little square panels in the bumpers that pop off to access a threaded hole which you can screw a tow hook into but you then have to hope your car came supplied with that threaded tow hook.
The hooks are usually stored with the spare tire and jack in the truck of cars.
I believe they do it this way because the cars are so low to the ground you would probably damage the bumpers if you were to tie off to the underside of them.
My wife's Mazda 3 didn't have the hook from the factory so I bought one for her incase I have to pull her out.

I found it easier just to use the traction boards because you just toss them under the wheel and off you go. No need to dig through peoples trunks.

    Get to it!

Those look like the "smoked" ambers!

You may not have to take off the whole grill like I did to swap out.

Not me but my daughter. She got wheels & tires for xmas, Method 316 with 265 Nitto Terra Grappler G2's. IMO it's a much better look than the SCS Ray10's they replaced. Hate that fake beadlock that are on so many wheels today.

After helping people get unstuck this morning I decided to go get myself stuck in the snow instead.
Went to go cross country skiing and the parking lot hadn't been plowed but I figured I could make it through the lot.
Made it about 20 feet in and got stuck, guess I should have just turned around when no one else was there.
Once again I had to get out the traction boards to free myself.
My cheapo X-Bull traction board, that had started to crack, finally split in half :(
I got maybe 10 recoveries out of the boards over the last 3 years.

So I figured instead of spending another $100 on boards that will break under light use I will go big and order a proper set of MaxTrax MK2 boards.

I know many would say not to do it, but I’ve used a soft shackle around alloy wheel spokes if the person isn’t stuck badly. When it’s someone stuck in a driveway or hung on a drift, a light pull while their car is in neutral is all you need. Every time I’ve done this, the wheel that’s being used just slides with the pull and doesn’t turn causing any binding. Again, I only do
this when the need a small pull. Other than that, not much else you can use/do. The screw-in tow points aren’t very good for pulling lateral, but are ok when pulling straight on.
