Roof rack progress

 

Installed the front hitch this morning 30 minute job. Curt hitch bolted right up to my 21 AC TRDOR. Winch install tomorrow. The winch is all assembled in the cradle and ready to wire in.

 

I fabricated a bracket and installed an SAE charging port to keep my AGM battery topped off. I found a use for those mystery holes in the engine bay.

So, after many years, curiosity finally got the better of me. Big boy pants, donned. A quick test drive says that I won't be able to heave it into the corners like I normally do, but otherwise, it does feel better.




PS, the passenger cross brace is a pain in the butt to thread all the bolts back into place. Never would have guessed that little piece would be my time suck of the day.

 

I have had mine off for 7 years now, no problems and it allows the front suspension to be independent. Never had any issues at high speeds nor on quick lane changes or curves.

I did the same, but in the wheel well. Works great for those cold weeks where its -10 degrees and my truck doesnt move.

 

Yeah I'm slow to make suspension changes.

My big hangup has always been that I like my steering wheel to be snappy and precise. And I can already tell that the steering is much more loosey-goosey now. I'll give it an honest one month trial though. I might wind up seeing that the benefit outweighs the compromise.

Just got a FitCamX dashcam.
The easiest and cleanest non OEM electronic mod I have ever installed. Literally less than 5 minutes and no fiddling to get it installed and connected to the app.
Then deleted the app because I don't trust any app that requires you to allow access to your phones location and camera.
It has a removable SD card so if I ever need the footage I can just plug it into my computer.

 

After years of precariously perched Nalgenes and Miir Cups, I installed a Z precision cup holder. Instant quality of life improvement.

Is this a 32oz? I got these for my 32oz Hydroflask. It can also work on the rear side. It also act as a coin holder “lock”. I rarely use coins anyway.

I dont know man, the fact you carry around your cell phone eliminates not being trackable. Your cell phone is always listening and always tracking you.
